Looking forward to it immensely. They haven't been down here for quite some time, I'll be the one at the front making doe eyes at Rick Antony.

Any idea of stage times? It's usually a fairly early finish at the Haunt. A mate went to see them in Bristol and said they were brilliant as were the support- Gulp. Think there is a different support today. I notice Gulp are at Sticky Mikes later this month.

Quite a strange support slot for them in truth.

First time I've heard Protogenesis described as Shamen! You know what, it is a bit, mind you I quite like The Shamen.

Ha ha! Well that's what came to mind when I heard it. I quite liked it too, but the rambling droney stuff never seemed to go anywhere. Maybe I'm just a bit shallow!

I absolutely love The Phantom Band, that's the 4th time I've seen them and they've been brilliant every time. Where was everyone though? Very disappointing attendence.

Yes - bit of a throwback they were! Wasn't sure of the gender to start with.

First time we saw them, me and my friend had exactly the same issue. We spent at least 15 minutes thinking they were the best girl band we'd ever seen. I'm no massive Kasabian fan but fair play to them for taking an act out that a) are excellent live and b) differ from the norm.

I see Belle and Sebastian are the latest to play at the de La Warr on - October 29th.

Why do so many bands play the last week of October , don't they know it's half term that week- grrrr!

Anyone wanting to see something a little more on the youthful side could do a lot worse than head to the Komedia monday for the Lonely the Brave/Marmozets double bill. Both up and coming British rock bands who seem to be heading for bigger things, it should be an absolute cracker.

Yes. Phantom band were brilliant but a sadly undersold evening. A great band who deserve better attention. Was slightly put out by the early - 8.45p.m start- and missed the first few songs. Maybe the promotors should warn people of times? To put it into perspective I was outside the Haunt ten minutes earlier than The Fall even arrived on stage the week before. I know- a different venue and The Haunt becomes a club later but still very early. Good to catch up with SHConvert but didn't realise so many others were going. Hope to make it to Future Of The Left on Monday. Not got a ticket yet as working late and will be touch and go, especially if they start at eight! The Horrors tonight- that's with my Girlfriend who is a fan. I might enjoy it. Who knows?

Apologies for my slightly drunken ramble. The heart was in the right place, the brain clearly wasn't!

Nothing wrong with drunken rambles. The current Mrs Pevenseagull was adamant that there was a veggie dosa window of opportunity left in the night, otherwise I would have been able to shoot the breeze over another can of over priced shit beer.

I know there is at least one local promoter (think it was One Inch Badge) who sent an email out to all ticket sellers (Resident got one) specifically telling them not to give out stage times to anyone. Don't know why. Beer sales? Trying to up the numbers for support bands? But it usually turns up on the band (or one of the support band's) Twitters during the course of the day.

I'm pretty sure it's OIB, I don't have a massive problem when it's not an early gig but I went to two OIB early gigs last week (Phantom Band and Goat) where an arrival at 9 (normally good enough to see most of the support) would have seen you missing some of the headliners. I'm firm of the belief that if it's a 10pm curfew, you need to let the punters know.

I'll be at FOTL on Monday. I'd imagine The Horrors were alight weren't they. More of a fan of the first two albums than the last two but they've always been decent live.

Yes Horrors were ok to be honest. Played a mixture of stuff from all albums and a great light show. Not sure about his voice at times but they were up for it. Venue was a bit different from the usual and is pretty good acoustically. Would not mind seeing a few more bands there. I found out the capacity is 1100 which I don't think can be matched in Brighton apart from maybe Corn Exchange. Hope to make it tomorrow but a twelve hour day at work may get in the way. Seeing The Monochrome Set on Saturday at Green Door Store though.
