But the problem is the circumstances of his departure will always raise the question "What if?".

The circumstances of his departure was just the fact that he did'nt want to play for the Albion anymore! The grass was Greener elsewhere.

One of the few things I do agree with McGhee on.

Bye Bye Leon

Hope your next visit to Withdean is a very painful one.

check his record,mostly penalties

Clearly not true. I believe one of his 17 this season has been a penalty.

he is only a bench warmer at swansea

Not exactly true either. Started the last three matches ahead of local hero Trundle, scored five goals.

So he was a little :censored:
When we played to his strengths, and he resepcted the manager he played well and was a great asset to the team
Personally i think we should have kept him and built the team around him and we would have had more chance 0f scoring the goals to keep us up, more so than McCammon, Turienzo, McPhee, Robinson, Kazim-Richards, Gatting and Noel-Williams

The Championship is a massve step up from league one, but I think he could of done the job if treated rightly.
Coppell had him sorted, and he flourished, McGhee less so and he went a bit rubbish.

These stats are an interesting read, and put great cases for both sides of the story for should he stay or go, or is he good enough for the championship

Knights Seasons with Brighton

2003/2004 Season League 1

2004/2005 Season Championship

2005/2006 Season Championship
Games 25 Goals 5 (20%)

Knight Under the Various Managers in League 1

Coppell

McGhee
Games 32 Goals 17 (53%)

Booker
Games 4 Goals 2 (50%)

Under McGhee he played 82 games and scored 24 (29%)

Let The Mass Debate Begin...........

I have never read so much rubbish in all my life. Leon Knight is a very good player in League One, nobody questioned that. However, he is not good enough for the Championship and in a struggling team he does not play for the team, only for himself. If Swansea go up you will see the same next season.

Personally, I am bored of the Leon Knight debate. His antics started the problems by storming off against Wolves and if he had not done that he may still be here. He is not, so get over it and accept that he has gone. Even if he scores a hat trick in the final, I will still feel the same.
