There seems to be an awful lot of deseration at the moment. Must admit I was on the verge last week, but unlike some things on here the disagreement was sorted and I'm still here. 
Seems to me things have gone downhill bigtime since the Kuipers/Henderson debate came to a head.

I've always worked on the principle that NSC isn't the place to turn abusive racists into martyrs.
But when we are losing good posters, in numbers, who have had enough, maybe it's time to rethink the tolerance that we've given to the filth-mongers.

Something needs to be done, this is the worse the board has ever been since my time on it, started around 1997/8. We can either have uncensored free speech (which at present means dumb kids and racists, i appreciate there is a big difference) or moderated banter and ban racists and moderate inane chat between kids that would be better off on MSN. I'll give the board until Christmas, if nothing changes then I'm off as well.

I've just read the thread and although Joe had a point I can't help thinking that Bulldog's intemperate langauge was intended to be tongue in cheek.
I don't blame him - just read the thread and being called a c*** is just completely out of order, and it is stupid in defence, to say " if you don't like what you read then go elsewhere" (spoken in a spotty 12 year olds voice" pathetic IMO.
People have shown they can't use the word sensibly, that they won't ignore the stupid baiting posts, and that they won't "go elsewhere" and not read a thread...Some people think NSC is just a message baord on the web somewhere that they can post anything on, some people on here think its a board where they can chat with their friends, the two are no longer mixing, and unfortunately the old friends at the bar are marching out the door as the burberry wearing hooligans are breaking pool cues over the tables and swearing and spitting...

I've just read it. There's nothing wrong with people having different views but personally attacking people is out of order. Bulldog went way too far. What I can't understand is people being banned in the past for being purile or over-posting but not for personally attacking people with foul and abusive language. If this doesn't warrant a banning nothing does.

All the time I've been on NSC there are people saying 'is this the worst time ever on here?' I think its a hell of lot better than when Dwayne was being a twat.
If there's a right wing element on here at the moment, maybe that reflects society at the moment and lets not pretend its not happening, but fight it with healthy debate. If people are flouncing and not up for the fight, thats a shame but thats just the way it has to be. I'm sure after a break, most will come back and no grudges will be held.
