I had a few days in Seatoller near Keswick earlier this month. Very quiet but nice local walks.

Went up Haystacks near Buttermere which is nice but generally I like Keswick as plenty to do and lots of nearby place to go Fell walking, Cat Bells, Causey Pike etc. which are nice and gentle and quite scenic.

Keswick rests on Derwent Watr I have have said Kendal before. Anyway is if Keswick make suure you visit the car museum. Got talking to the owner and he has some tales to tell and has loads of photos of him and all the stars he has met. I brought a Spielberg and Harrison ford autograph from him and he allowed me to sit in Starsky & Hutches car which he paid $ 40000 for around 20 years ago.
