Nice little post-match piece with the skipper and Jamie Redknapp.

I don't think they got the best passages of our play in this, but it's an interesting insight anyway.

Great and all that but all this attention RDZ is getting... 😫

It’s great when it works as it can really open the pitch up and create promising attacks, but there’s very little margin for error there, we will give away at least a handful of goals every season doing this. Good to hear De Zerbi is so relentless getting the patterns of play right. I’m starting to relax a bit more watching us play out from the back, but I’m still waiting for the one time it goes wrong and concede.

Incredible that dunce Southgate is overlooking our CBs. The way they are playing is the envy of the premier league and blowing pundits away and yet he prefers Eric Dier. Insanity.
The Athletic podcast from a few days ago was focussing on how Arsenal get to the next level....and suggested their prime defensive target should be Lewis Dunk. He has to be SO unlucky to have been playing his football whilst Southgate is manager of England.

Southgate’s a f***ing melt. If anything he knows he can’t coach as well. Dunky is easily in the top 3 centre backs in the country English or not. Pep would have him all day long.

Oh and why the f*** do you think Cucarella looked good. It’s because Lewis allowed him to be. When you have someone who can defend and do everything so well it made it easy for the snide little prick.

It's only kamikaze when everyone does it, we seem quite proficient.

Not that you'd know that from the crowd reaction.

But we haven't given away a handful of goals doing it this season. Agreed we will concede the odd goal giving away possession in a dangerous area but I don't think it's resulted in a single goal yet this season. Perhaps it won't be as many goals as you'd think when you see how risky it appears. I think RDZ took over after ? 6 premier league games so he's been here most of the season.

If we concede from it that will just create more of what RDZ is looking for ie it will encourage the opposition on even more. I’m not saying he wants to give away a goal but on the occasions it happens there are positives to it.

It’s amazing that Lewis can’t get into the National squad, purely because the National team manager has no clue about how to play attractive football.
He’s a dinosaur like Allardyce or Dyche or Pardew or Pulis.
HOOF IT
And so a top defender never features
Is it personal do you think? Does Waistcoat Man dislike him on a personal level?
Has to be doesn’t it?

Yep.
Waistcoat can't see the skill levels required to play football at the Albion.
All he can see is big clubs, big wages and big foreheads.

By the end of the year all the top teams will have adapted their style to incorporate some form of DeZerbiball and Waistcoat will be even more out of his depth than he currently is.

I was thinking last night how much Lewis has grown and adapted while in the PL.

Under Hughton, let's face it, it was throwing your body in front of the ball, last ditch, backs to the wall stuff with him and Duffy. But there was no-one better in the league than Dunky at doing it.

Now, he's an uber-calm ball-controlling playmaker, expert in drawing teams in and then moving the ball neatly up the pitch. And again, there's no-one better in the league than Dunky at doing that either.

But hey, Harry Maguire hey. What an England legend...

They’d be wasted anyway. No way Southgate could coach the full backs and midfield to play like ours do. Dunk and Webster would be stood there studs on the ball waiting for their England team mates to make themselves available and they’d end up having to hoof it as they’d be no options on.
