It's often been said that Labour just don't do political assassinations. I suspect that this is about to change. The prospect of a snap election around November is a real one, as whoever takes over has no mandate at all for what's to come. The Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) is alive to this possibility and foresees oblivion with Corbyn at the helm. They will get one crack at this and it has to be very soon indeed. I'd be surprised if the PLP hadn't ganged up on him in some way before this time next week.

Difficult one for Labour in that many heartland Labour voters voted out in the referendum but Labour leadership supporting remain. So if a snal general election follows particularly if it's a one issue election (invoking article 50) they could see many previous supporters voting for UKIP. So any Labour leader in the short term has a very difficult job

Oh great. Just what the country needs right now. A civil war among Her Majesty's Official Opposition :nono:

Hilary Benn is one of the few credible front bench MP's Labour have. I suppose given the momentous events of the last few days Labour have to move very quickly with a General Election expected within months.

Blimey! I didn't expect them to be that fast. Took them four hours. :)
