Absolutely disgraceful from a public broadcaster and testament to how right wing and Tory leaning they are.

Right or left we are entitled to our opinions. So, from someone who is centre right can I just state my complete and utter dismay at the embarrassment of the Labour leader? What an absolute bell end. I just don’t get him. If he thinks he is fit for purpose then he can freely jump on the next plane back to Russia

i wonder if people upset by this actually watch Newsnight or just recycling outrage from Owen Jones's and others. its editorial programme and if they have a feature talking about something from a perspective, they will put backdrops that reflect that, and short of actual swastikas they would put controversial pictures for anyone. they expect grown-ups to be watching who can distill the context of the story. its ludicrous to make a fuss the hat is made to look Russian, if they'd wanted to make him look like he's wearing a ushanka they'd have pasted over an actual ushanka.
