Another point often missed is that no matter who Labour have as leader, they will not be trusted. Many voters have not forgotten the cock ups they made, many working class are not going to forgive and be let down yet again.

Strategy seems to have evolved from 'Tory-lite' to keep your fingers crossed and hope that there's a massive recession so the Tories get a kicking in 2020

well, at least he's consistent, he didnt mention it in the budget reply either, before rambling on a monologue of general issues (still no idea where the claimed £70bn cuts come from).

Despite being allowed 6 attempts, he only actually manged to ask 2 questions today... one limp one about a 'budget black hole' and one vague one about cuts in schools.

Pathetic effort to think on his feet once his scripted questions were shot to pieces.

He should have been nailing May and Hammond, making them squirm... it was an embarrassing performance.

To be fair, there is a thead for that. This thread is about Corbyn and he did fail to destroy May for the u-turn, as well as her support for the budget plans.

Didn't watch but if JC took the opportunity to highlight the crisis that the Tories are creating in our schools, worsening by the month, then that is precisely what he should be doing as Leader of the Opposition.

That a Tory in his shoes would have passed that opportunity up in order to focus on some braying pointscoring tells you all you need to know.

The growing crisis in our state education system is an absolute scandal. Tories don't care because they will have continued access to private, free and grammar schools. Corbyn is the type of bloke who just cannot pass by on the other side like most of us are able to do when given the chance.

True enough. Doesn't show him up to be a strong, electable leader though, which is also important.

PMQs, unfortunately, has become a point scoring exercise, and he could have bolstered people's belief in him somewhat.

The reason he didn't mention it was because he HATES people who think for themselves, who do not rely on the state for handouts, who have the drive and ability to earn their own money instead of looking to the nanny state. Corbyn HATES those who achieve and so is happy to see them taxed more highly, the man is a waste of hot air as he cannot even effectively protest, let alone actually DO anything.

I think Corbyn got his days mixed up, statements to the House was yesterday not today. Today was question day - oh well, I did chuckle that after one of his statements Mrs May stood up to answer (although no question asked) she was shouted down, and the Speaker jumped in saying he wanted to hear the answer, Perhaps he should have asked Corbyn to have another go at actually asking a question.

Corbyn should have been suggesting a split between Hammond and May and questioning Hammond's competency for the job. His aim should be getting Hammond to resign right now, everything else should be put on the backburner for a bit.

A real wasted opportunity to drive a wedge between PM and chancellor. They don't come a long very often.

That's the media doing what they do isn't it, they've decided how they want Corbyn to be perceived and that's what they're sticking to. I don't believe for a second that any great number of people watched that and thought hang on, why isn't Corbyn asking about the NI u-turn? Shows you how easily led people are. It also shows you that the media have a very fixed idea on how PMQs should work, and Corbyn doesn't dance to that tune so.....

If you were able to look further than your bias, you will find that they are not the only ones -Mrs Abbott and Mr Corbyn should be able to help you on that score.
