Work with a Wigan fan. He's very very confident. Seems that they barely recognise the danger. Over-confidence playing into our hands? I hope so.

Yes, yes I'm sure that the over confidence of one Wigan fan will mean that they will lose tonight!

Blimey, that's impressive, or desperate.

I'd make the trip myself for that if I wasn't stuck at work.

I assume there will be a live stream for the game somewhere?

Wigan have never won at Birmingham in eight meetings in all competitions, drawing four and losing four.

Here's another straw to clutch at

The ref tonight is the same ref as when Brum won their last home league game (4-0 v Millwall)

I would love to see some stats for key end of season games to see if it really is a case of...

"Nothing to play for" - they don't care/will lose more easily, or
"Nothing to play for" - they can relax and play with freedom and might win

"Something to play for" - they will try extra hard/more likely to win, or
"Something to play for" - they'll be tense and nervy which will hinder them.

I suspect stats will show it probably makes no difference at all.

My guess is that it would make a difference, but nothing like the difference people assume it would make. Something like a 5% difference rather than 50%. I do feel Acker79 needs to waste his day proving or disproving this nonsense.

Oh and all those saying Birmingham are due a win because they haven't won in ages - I hate to say that Wigan have NEVER won at St Andrews in their previous 8 league visits, so they are due a win there too. :(

"Wigan striker Martyn Waghorn will be included in the squad as the Latics aim to grab the three points needed to clinch a play-off spot."

They will be going hard for it tonight

I would want to see Birmingham City staying up. It's one of my favourite away trips. Not too far, and I've always had friends in that city.

It's strange feeling as nervous about other teams matches as ours, effectively because they are handing us points by failing.

I remember in 1991, when we reached the play-offs, that other teams results went our way at this stage. It's a bit like that season.

Just to make it slightly more interesting I've just had a cheeky quid each on

Macheda first to score, Brum win 1-0
Macheda first to score, Brum win 2-1
Both 40/1

Novak first to score, Brum win 1-0
Novak first to score, Brum win 2-1
Both 50/1

This also now means Brum will win 2-0 with Vidic scoring first :lolol:

I'm tempted to bet on Wigan heavily, that should ensure they don't do the business.

Every critical match thread recently has been a let down , so for the balance of trying to reverse everything . . . . . .

Come on Wigan , easy 3 points for you tonight .

Wigan have got to win 1 of their remaining games to be certain of the play offs 2 draws will not do if we and Reading win.
