A fair few teams used to stay at the Imperial, not sure if they still do, remember seeing Notts County there and Chris Cattlin & Justin Fashanu going into the lounge for a chat before he signed. Who knows you may even get a ride on the team bus ))
Well if they are there i will try but they will have to drop me at the pub and if fowler sees a pub he might not make the game ( he likes a pint)

I've just checked on the AA route finder and it's just over 6 miles so it depends on how used you are to walking. There is a good choice of buses at the top of First Avenue to the Old Steine and then get a 25 from there. The trains get fairly crowded from Hove and from Brighton so the buses are probably the best bet.

The number 25 starts from Palmeira Square whereas if you get on at the Old Steine it will be standing room only. I'm hoping that next season B&H Buses introduce a limited stop 25X service from the Old Steine to Falmer using the bendibuses.

Really - thanks for that. I was going to use the 5s and 25 this weekend but switch at the Steine - I'll switch at Palmeria now.

Years ago visiting cricket teams to County Ground used to stay there so should imagine fairly good quality hotel.

brighton, actually
No - you're not really within walking distance. You'll be better going by bus from Palmeria Square. Take any of the 5's ( 5, 5A, 5B ) to the Steine and then swap to a 25 to Sussex University. You'll spot the stadium once you're there. If you ask for a day ticket on the bus it will cost you £4 each for all the journeys.

Used to work at the Imperial and it's always been a reasonable hotel so enjoy the weekend ( result withstanding ! ).

Daily bus tix are bita cheaper, bought in advance of trip- check shops, newsagents etc
