Deepest, darkest Sussex
I don’t care about who wins but I’m disappointed Surrey (which is what that team is) didn’t lose

From a Sussex perspective, actually some positives;
- No injuries to key players
- Alsop and Coles looked in form
- Jofra back playing (and cleared for the QF)

Southern Brave?? They play in Hampshire but they represent all of us on the South Coast, I don't live in Hampshire.

Brilliant fightback by the Brave.
👍 Thanks for letting us know

I haven't a clue which franchise won and care even less.

Had a lovely afternoon watching some village cricket.

We've got our season back folks.

Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
I had it on earlier and the wife walked in

"Urgh, cricket on a Sunday night can we watch something else"

"Yeah, turn this shit off" was how the conversation went here.

I just can't care about it in the slightest. Id rather argue with that Swedish bell about Sanchez FFS and I love cricket.
Yeah, I watched the last 30 balls to avoid a channel 5 “documentary” Mrs GB had recorded and I actually feel dirty.

It’s nostalgia, the history, that draws people into The Hundred. We all remember our first time as young kids when we saw the South Coast Tomahawks, their iconic shirt with Toffo sponsorship tastefully emblazoned all over it, that unmistakable sound of tacky commercialism on willow, the jets of fire and t-shirt cannons. Whenever the Southern Ninjas lose a game our entire weekends are ruined because it's in our blood, as it was in the blood of those who went before us - once a Sussex Whirlwinds fan, always a South Coast Whirlwinds fan, you don't choose it, it chooses you.

I hope they pay you when they lift that from here and run it as an ad campaign next year.

I hate these franchises - they do nothing to identify and bring on talent, they are parasites feasting on the hard work of the Counties. So AFAIAC, all this nonsense can f*** off. And then, when's it's f***ed off, they can do it again.

I am off the fence.

So. Can we close this thread and get back to talking about cricket?

Just far enough away from LDC
I detest how the bbc and sky pundits avoid saying anything negative about this because their paymasters are so invested in it.

It's shit, it could kill county cricket and it's another example of the ecb when faced with a turn left/turn right choice making the same wrong choice screw up each time. Stanford millions v t20, sky v terrestrial, English ipl into existing counties v the hundred.

I would love to play coin toss against the ecb because they simply never make the right 50/50 choice

This year's viewing figures: The women’s competition dropped by 41 per cent on Sky and the men’s tournament 28 per cent compared to 2023.

I think it needs reviewing. Obviously too long to keep folk's attention.

Let's try the 50 next and work down.

Crisp, anyone ?

Agree With the TV money ECB will tell us cricket is more wealthy than ever without saying they have killed county game and made a great 50 game into a 2nd team competition. I always start day looking at BBC news and sport. Given up with cricket for because of paymasters all they talk about is Hundred.
Also fed up with ECB telling us little nterest in County game. I wonder if reason is most games played in April May and September. Also standard is poorer with no top overseas and rarely any England players.
Bin the Hundred have county cricket throughout summer and play 20/20 every Friday Saturday or Sunday. Reinstate 50 game as a top competition with all available even if it reverts as before to a knockout competition with final at Lords.
I would also suggest they were given at least 50% of the marketing budget that was given to Hundred.

A devastating loss for the Brave at a febrile Lords.

I just hope @crodonilson can cope with the loss, tempered with the knowledge that we beat Everton and Palace and Chelsea lost.

Thoughts and prayers Crodo 😢
I won't lie I was gutted but over it now and that's the brilliant thing about cricket. Cricket was the ultimate winner, the Invincibles again loved up to their name, they are an absolute class act and in the Curran's they've got two players who understand the Hundred and peak every August for it.

Worth also saying Simon 'Doully' Doull thought the Hundred was the highlight of the sporting summer, and given we've had Fishomania, The Olympics, The Euros and the PL international friendlies that's saying something.
