Our Southern Brave all over the Originals tonight at a near full Ageas Bowl. They just can't handle our pace bowling. Looking good for a win which will catapult us into the promised land of the top 3 in the table.

Simon 'Doully' Doull hugely impressed with our franchise bowling and he knows a thing or two about franchise cricket.
👍 Thanks for letting us know

Southern brave now 49% Indian. Well done ECB Selling domestic cricket. Once counties like mine, Somerset, and many of yours, Sussex, but the dust I look forward to hundred fans explaining this is good.

Always loved a bit of Somerset ever since they turned up at the County Ground in 1983 with their cider cans. SUMERRR_ZET la la la. All good fun. Absolutely biffed us that day. Bowled out for 65. Beat us the following year too. Martin Crowe practically on his own. Still, we have 1978 to hold on to.

When are you going to hurry up and win a Championship title ?

I don’t think we ever will. We have had so many seconds it hurts. Our massive chance was a few years ago when we had hants about 90 for 8 then they made about 200 and abbot skittled us. But the big chance was in 2010 when we would have won but for weather. A couple of times we had games all but won with a day left and it rained. Then on the last day notts got bonus points vs Lancs and then got 3 wickets they needed for bonus point. We were going to win at Durham but it rained for an hour on final day and we didn’t have time to chase.

The final chance was the season we played Essex last day winner takes the title. It rained and only about 150 overs possible. They had the nerve to cry about the pitch even though they have prepared pitches for harmer for years.

Even bob Willis trophy in Covid year we were good but lost a crucial toss in the final at lords. An obvious bowling two days where we were on and off non stop in overcast conditions. We kept getting on for an hour so their best bowlers bowled virtually all the overs first innings. As soon as we got out the sun came out and they had perfect batting conditions. The match was a draw but they won due to more runs first innings in perfect conditions.

Basically it is written never to happen!

Funny, I too have always had a soft spot for Somerset for similar reasons (this was 1987 mind). Superb county and another that the ecb are willing to sacrifice on the altar of greed.

For the last 20 years we have had a production line of high quality lads make it into the first team and get England honours. It has been a joy supporting them but ultimately it ends in tears. I am still not over 2010. We had it won on that last day until it rained. Even then we just needed Lancs to not lose 3 wickets in 15 overs (or something like that).

It's the big London derby this afternoon, as the Spirit take on the Invincibles. No love lost between these two fierce and historical rivals and bragging rights as well as league points at stake. Invincibles have to be favourites but the Spirit have made a fine start.

Tonight pretty grim. Superchargers all out for 83, the guesting Stokes scoring a mighty duck. Birmingham chased that down in 39 balls. To win by 10 wickets.

What a shambles. The weird 100 format might have survived (and still might for the women) but these sort of crap match-ups do it no favours. What a shit game.

Try telling a Phoenix fan it was a shit game. They were hugely impressive, Simon Doully Doull said he thinks on that evidence they can give the Phoenix fans what they all crave, a first Hundred title.

For those looking at this thread like waiting for the news that a despised villain of the planet has finally passed away, I give you the good news that we are only 12 days away from the next Test match.

The Humbug finishes next Sunday.

Poor Crodo will need to find another thread to troll.

To see the world's best white ball spinner being ripped to shreds was entertainment.
