It was mainstream and top quality . . . There are more songs that deserve to be on that list in the same year.

What is considered mainstream now Is bollocks compared to then, all managed fabricated flakey fake commercialism. About as much soul as a worn out bowling shoe on Theresa May.

Seems the alternative scene is held in higher regard now than it was 40 years ago???

I worked in his house, he gave me a CD album by his band.

Lovely fellah. Was big buds with John Peel. Appeared in an episode of red dwarf.Cravattes relased a new cd last year. Not shabby. :rock:

Maybe we should have a thread on a top 50 from all of John Peels Festive 50s over the years

I did wonder about that when I saw My Generation in the list.
