A Northern Outpost
A man who seemed to be an essential player is now a good option luxury player. We can wait for him to get fit/his head together.

Absolutely this, with the squad we have. We're pretty solid, Vicente adds a lot. But we're doing well without him. Him getting playing time will just make this squad even better. Imagine Orlandi, Vicente, Hammond/Crofts/Bridcutt and Lopez altogether. A f***ing solid midfield...

I wonder, if Brighton are promoted whether they'll want to hold onto Vicente, or let him go?

Just wandering what people thoughts are now ?

Where are you wandering? Old Shoreham Road?

Fantastic player that, when fit, has the ability to turn a game on its head.

He may not walk back into the side (and when he gets on I pray Gus doesn't stick him up front again), but when he DOES get on, I feel there is going to be some magic.

I'm expecting, at some stage, a repeat of the Derby mazy run and shot, with a goal this time.

My only concern is for the success of the team, and Vicente's in and out presence in the team can only be disruptive to the remainder of the players. He is undoubtedly one of the best players ever to play for Brighton, but I'm not sure whether his intermittent presence in the team justifies his probably relatively high salary.

Last time I went down there, I failed to spot a single person running or a smiling face but I did see a bit of blue and white and a bloke with one of those big purple birthmark things on his face. I'm not taking the piss, just saying.

Still the best player in the league IMO.

I was running that way last Christmas and recall the few other runners out smiling at me warmly as i plumply passed. I get in and discover the top i'm wearing is a scratchy fabric one and my nipple have been bleeding for probably half an hour more, the crimson tears from said chest-pokers cascading down my once snow-white top. Pah. And eep.

What we saw last season was a genius who's wave length was a cut above the others on the park. He could see space and passes that others couldn't and I think that frustrated him at times. Now I think we have players who share similar football brains in terms of technical ability.

Awsome if he gets a full run with the new players. Bruno in particular, they share similar vision.

Here we go, all the Vicente doubters coming out the wood work again!

And the rose-tinted-spectacle-wearing Vicente lovers! He's made a MASSIVE contribution to our top of the league position so far, hasn't he?

Have to agree with that, but will he be fit to play more than 10 minutes every 10th game?

To be an Albion fan and LOVE Vicente is certainly not rose-tinted.

I really doubt that his, as you put it, in and out presence will be disruptive to a team which is more and more going to be operating a squad rotation system.

As regards wages, I doubt that he will be earning that much more than others as was explained when he first signed.

The prospect of his presence in midfield is mouth watering given that GP has tweaked his strategy somewhat.

agreed, i felt last year that players were in awe of him and just looked to give him the ball and not be creative themselves. This year will be different when he finally makes an appearance. cant wait.

Vicente was exactly the player we could have done with tonight. The sooner we get him fit the better as he is the one player I can see regularly opening up teams who come to the Amex and park the bus.
