With or without stats I think we saw enough last season to say whilst we would all like him to stay we will cope without him.
Fair assessment IMO.

I don't know if its been mentioned before but it is very common in spain for club presidents to promise certain signings in preseason, even if they don't work out. I think its all to do with the way the clubs are set up with membership etc...may be wrong though

Even those don't necessarily tell the story, some teams score on the break so maybe get goals when no playing well, or concede on the break when they are dominating. I wonder if it's something about how we play, with people more interested in letting him win the game than play their part, or if we just become one dimensional with him etc.
Hang on a sec.... We knew he was injury prone before we got him, therfore any medical issues that go with that are down to the club not the player. We took the chance on him and we paid the docs to get him sorted. end of!! we knew the risks and as far as i am aware he owes us NOTHING. Dont pretend this isnt true either.
I conducted a currently popular form of speculation experiment using one of my neighbour's cats yesterday, David. She's actually called Daisy but I refuse to call her anything other than David due to her having two different coloured eyes and the general demeanour of the Thin White Duke. Here's what happened; I placed a bowl of dry cat food next tol a bowl of traditional wet smelly stuff and said to David "If you chose the dry then this means Vicente will not be an Albion player this coming season, but, if you choose the wet first it means he will be playing for Brighton, possibly under a new and improved contract". David looked at me quizzically for a moment before turning around, walking under the bay tree and doing a fowl smelling shit, leaving both bowls of food untouched. Read into this what you will dear readers.
It probably means that the cat wasn't hungry having recently demolished a bargain bucket from KFC!

Good spot.It probably means that the cat wasn't hungry having recently demolished a bargain bucket from KFC!
U could say we were one dimensional without him with our midfield lacking the necessary craft and guile to create chances
maybe they the club saw as a risk worth taking And that if they could fet him fit it was money w1ell spent for A TWO YEAR CONTRACT . It was a gamble f*** would would you sell your winning lotto ticket back to the shop for a pound

I agree entirely, but the message from Gus was that he wouldnt stand in his way if he decided he didnt want to stay.
This is a sign of the times unfortunately. A gentelmans agreement means nothing to people these days. Years ago you would have been thought of in a very different light if you went back on a hand shake or verbal aggreement.
But what we hear and what goes on behind the scenes are 2 verydifferent things, it would appear.
Some of the back tracking on here is hilarious ! From legend to he isn't all that anyway !! If he doe's re sign for you again, he will be the greatest ever weed player again !

Unfortunately, this. If he doesn't sign I'll be gutted. He's the best player I've ever seen in the Stripes
