Something's not right there. It's like the last chopper out of Saigon.

I think Briggs was in the last year of his contract.

Warwickshire can pay more.

Have a feeling Sussex are strapped at the moment.

Here
£££££££££££ - simply can't compete with Test ground counties so the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

I don't think we have choice with Weise anyway as we can't have him a Kolpak next season as they're not allowed? And we've got Head as our overseas. I'd rather have Weise though, presumably on less money, knows the club and great with bat and ball

Does that mean van Zyl's not coming back? That's not what Sussex said a couple of months ago

Hopefully this will herald an new era with Mark Robinson returning as coach and a 5 year 'project' to develop the next generation of cricketing talent at Sussex.

I can't see any of the big counties trying to lure Jofra away as he wont be playing much County cricket for the next few years?

From someone in the know I was always led to believe Wiese, whilst less than Head, was still an huge outlay for a club with Sussex's resources.

I don't know I would have thought Archer might attract some interest. He's a name in world cricket, surely that must have some advertising pull. I could see Surrey keeping an eye on him.

No idea but I'd imagine Sussex will be relieved to have another hefty salary off the books

At least we're not going to lose so many players to the 100 next season!

Yep.
Expectations very low for next season.
It might be fun watching local young players develop.
But it basically means we are in with Derbys, Glamorgan, Leics etc
