Waiting in queues outside while the journos walk in to the best gigs - not my idea of fun really. Shame, as the line up is generally good.

It's a horrible festival though, organised by a music industry that thinks the punters are second class.

The festival is what it is. A showcase for new bands. I don't see how anyone can complain when for £35 you get three whole days of music, yes some delegates get in before you but they have paid more for the privelege (well their company has).

Rizzle Kicks are playing the opening party which I'm rather excited about (Mirrors are also playing it.)

Me and the wife have now bagged some places. See you there.

Not sure whether the gig is technically part of the festival or not, but I'm seriously looking forward to the mighty Sufjan Stevens on the 14th

Usually go, but giving it a miss this year - not least because the mighty British Sea Power are playing at Berwick Village Hall that weekend (and I have Primavera in Barcelona coming up!)

I went to Primavera last year. It's a fantastic festival but everyone seems a bit skint this year, wish I was going!!

Was going to, never been, but spoke to 3 separate people and all said it was a bit of a shambles, so decided against it.

Really wanted to see Fixers.

The line up this year is absolutely unbelievable, puts all the UK festivals to shame. It'll be my first time, but have friends who've gone before and they all say it's amazing... can't wait!

I'm liking EMA. Cheers for the tip. Doing two shows on the Saturday.

No problem HT, we both have Resident records to thank really. I always check out their album of the week and her album was one of those.

Tom Williams & The Boat are worth a watch. Playing Latest Music Bar in Manchester St on friday night. From Tun Wells, other than Joeyfat, The Anti Nowhere League and Everything Everything, they're probably the most likely band we have produced who are gonna have a hit!

The loveable League are touring with Motorhead this year, great stuff!

Hey! Excellent mate. Still trying to blag a +1 so I can take my missus. Tough times

I hope you got your plus 1. Party was a nice little taster for the next few days ahead. Rizzle Kicks were excellent performers and great fun. Whilst I like the Mirrors the crowd had thinned out significantly by the time they came on. A good performance but poor atmosphere. Cracking little venue, the 2ManyDJs night a few weekends ago must have been utterly mental in there.

Kicked my Great Escape off with the Alternative GE at the Albert last night top performances from What's Your Vice?, Sparrow, Nimmo and the Gauntlets and Clowns. Looking forward to the weekend now, although am writing off most of tonight to see frank Turner at coalition. Loads of people I've never heard of playing this weekend so hopefully i'll discover something new.

I'm going to see Rizzle Kicks in that Beyond Retro shop later for an accoustic set.

I overheard them talking about this outside. They're good fun, enjoy. And if you're anything like my wife in that particular shop leave all money and cards at home.

It was good wunnit? The free Jager was a nice touch. 2ManyDJs was too expensive but Yelle was the best fun I've had at a dance gig in ages a few weeks back in there...really like the Haunt. Rizzle were brilliant, shame loads of people (mostly the 18-year-old lasses down the front) left after, but I did the same - not really a fan of Mirrors. Got to work in London on Friday so given my hack pass for the weekend to someone else, but gonna try and see Sparrow at the Hydrant late doors.

I saw 6 bands from about 6.30pm til 1am. In order I of me liking them

Talking Pictures (Jam)
Alex Clare (Digital)
Example (Concorde2)
In Flight Safety (Jam)
Beautiful Word (Hub)
Housse du Racket (Digital)

We were going to see Warpaint, but the queues were huge, so we thought we'd go to The Pavilion, but the queues were huge. Ended up back in jam, and saw my favourite band of the night, Talking Pictures.

Tonight, no idea, but we are starting at The Hub at 7.30pm with my mates band, Mean Poppa Lean. Want to see the View at The Concorde2, Brother at Horatios, Katy B at Corn Exchange, but theres no way we will get to see them all
