I have only ever picked horses that came third, on a number of occasions, will let you know which one it will be this year when I see the runners.

As did I, no point having a bet yet until the final declarations are out early next month, unless of course you can find a bookie doing Non Runner No Bet in which case you won't lose your money if the horse does not run...

This year, providing he runs I can actually have a REAL charity bet in the form of the horse named after ME, Simon 20-1, Wahey... McKelvey looks quite good at 50/1 at this stage also GVA Ireland at 50/1, although larger odds than Numbersixvalverde was last year he's taken pretty much the same career path...

But like I say, not worth doing sod all yet until the final declarations.

Exotic Dancer is 80-1 because he ain't gonna run.

Reckon Point Barrow will be hard to keep out of the first three if he runs, but might yet go for the Irish version instead.

What odds can you get on Desert Orchid?

I seem to back the winner the year before they run it. Its happened a few times. I backed Nil Desperandum last year so I'm a little lost on one this year.

Sadly won't be running this year, was one of the very strong favourites until Saturday when he damaged his pastern and had to be sent to join the great Desert Orchid in horsey heaven.

Jack High needs 25 to come out to get a run, Joes Edge needs 28. Neither looks guaranteed to be there, but remember to get your money back if they are balloted out.
