If there were co-drivers "encouraging" the driver to go faster by hitting them with a whip then I'm sure there would be vociferous calls for motor racing to be banned.you can never eliminate the risk. Should we also ban motor racing?
Have a word with yourself....
The simple fact that, as you say, the design of the whip has changed and and the use of these has been legislated on only goes to acknowledge that their use is cruel. The current design of the whip was developed with input from the RSPCA. The whip is foam-padded and energy absorbing, comprising a composite spine with a polymer surround, encased in thick foam padding.
They're not the western style lasso that the Lester piggotts used of old, and there are strict restrictions on how many times they are used with draconian bans if breached
one death is too many in horse racing and I have previously struggled with jump racing because of this and am much more of a flat racing man but they have made massive efforts to reduce the likelihood of this, and considerable efforts for this race alone too to the point it isn't really the test of endurance it used to be
Mr incredible 14=1 if he doesn't mess about
Boom £50 up.......last of the big gamblersI am Maximus.............no not me the horse.
Bragging again !I Am Maximus. Wow.
Horses aren't put on this earth to be raced by humans, they get no pleasure from it, have no comprehension that they are actually in a race.If there were co-drivers "encouraging" the driver to go faster by hitting them with a whip then I'm sure there would be vociferous calls for motor racing to be banned.
It bothers you, don't watch it. Do you need to lecture those that enjoy it?Horses aren't put on this earth to be raced by humans, they get no pleasure from it, have no comprehension that they are actually in a race.
So when a jockey falls off and the horse continues to race and jump the fences why is that?Horses aren't put on this earth to be raced by humans, they get no pleasure from it, have no comprehension that they are actually in a race.
Horses are a prey animal - when the herd runs safety lies with keeping up.So when a jockey falls off and the horse continues to race and jump the fences why is that?
Not defending whipping or even racing.
The same could be said about many cruel " sports" - fox hunting, bear baiting, hare coursing etc . Thankfully the civilised majority has recognised the immorality in these activities and taken action to try and end them.Of

As I posted earlier, it is simply survival instinct. As a prey animal you stay with the herd in times of danger. Continuing to run is a sign of stress not enjoyment. So when a jockey falls off and the horse continues to race and jump the fences why is that?

I had himEldorado ran a respectable race for a 100/1. In the leading pack for the majority of the race.
No injuries reported which is great
Where the f**k did he come from Half of the race my 50p e/w's were in with a shout, then my £1 wins of Delta Work and Kittys Light looked they might get me some cash back, then he just came from nowhere! I was watching a body of slow moving water on the pc, the race on the TV, sat in the middle of them both, no mention of him in the top 5, then as soon as the commentator finished saying the top 5 he was just there, winning!!I Am Maximus. Wow.
