I spent the best part of 20 years working on fishing boats at various places around the British Isles so always had a special interest in the Shipping Forecast. It’s an amazing thing.

I worked near a similar island 40 miles north of Lewis called Sula Sgier and on a warm day (there weren’t many tbf) it used to absolutely stink.

Mrs The Clamp bought me a great book for Christmas last year. It goes through each area giving historical and geographical facts about each one. It’s brilliant.

I’m a huge fan of the Shipping Forecast and listen to it each night on shift.

What’s the book called please?

No one has mentioned the Coastal Forecast from Dover to Selsey Bill. Often more accurate than the land forecast for those of us on the coast.
