Has anyone on here read it?

Get hearing rave reviews, but I've just hit a brick wall after 50 pages and just cannot get into it

Is it worth ploughing on with

Its worth reading as far as the bit where she gets her revenge on the guy who's been abusing her. Otherwise, I suspect if you're not hooked after 50 pages you never will be.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Weird. I was over at a friends for dinner tonight and as their TV was on the blink, we were forced to converse. :nono:

I was recommending a few books (I get through two a week nowadays) and this book was plugged. Althought she had only just started it. I am not a great fan of buying/reading a book that people rave about as they invariably turn out to be disappointing. Still, it is now on my reading list and I shall give it a crack.

Currently enjoying the Bond book written by Seb Faulks 'The Devil May Care'. Halfway through it in just two days... I am going to need glasses soon at this rate.

Funny this - I was given a copy at London Bridge about a year ago. Handed out with a copy of the Evening Standard. And now it seems to be popular and on the best seller lists and all.
Still haven't read it mind !!

It's not a bad book, I quite enjoyed it. Not entirely sure why it would get rave reviews though. Give it another 50 pages or so and if it's still not grabbed you it's probably not going to.

Read it a couple of weeks ago and have enjoyed it enough to buy the next one. Good thriller and a page turner once it gets going. If you like your books written from the character's perspective then you'll enjoy this - reminded me of Harlan Coben a little. The setting makes a great difference - it's based in Sweden and it gives the whole story an interesting twist (nice change from LA, London etc). Texture of the book therefore not unlike Henning Mankell's Wallander.

Persevere with this one. Although it's quite a slow start, it's a cracking book and cant wait to read the next in the series.
The author wrote all 3 books and then died.......in mysterious circumstances!

BoF......so you'd recommend the Devil May Care would you?
