Anyone bought meat from there? Is it worth it or just pretentious and over-priced?

Go there every time i am in London....Beef is so amazing all from Longhorn Cattle and not that much more expensive that supermarkets but the taste difference is amazing.

I bought 2 MASSIVE veal chops from there a weeks back and they were easily the best pieces of meat I've ever cooked at home. They were sawn off the joint in front of me about an inch and a half thick. I was dribbling.

Pan fried 3mins one side 2 the other. Olive oil, salt and pepper. Rare, juicey, tender, beautiful. f*** me were they expensive though.

Yep well worth it for any meat, very pricey, but superb. Hawksmoor near Spittalfields get their steaks from GP, and they are probably the second best steak house in England.

i had some aged turtle wing from there last wednesday which was simply devine , justin had to pop to the offy for a bottle of semillon to quaff with it ......marvellous

The Hawksmoor is very good but don't order their steak burgers for lunch at your desk. Poor.

Yer? I'm a friday regular there and I always order the burger, absolutely love it.

Top place. Can't resist their hot sausage rolls (£3, but the most succulent filling, wrapped in an amazing buttery pastry) when I'm having a sniff around the market at lunch. Trying to shift a few pounds so haven't been over for a while – I'm that weak.

I'm sorry. That's just stilll my favourite ever post on NSC, I cant help it. Uncle Spielberg, you may be a manic depressent, bi-polar horse loving nutcase, but you brought us the Lokki in his Boxster watching American Psycho allegation. And for that you are OK in my book.
