'the overall matchday experience has signifcantly reduced'

Can't really blame that on the announcer :D

Eeeeh, it makes me feel unclean but I'm sort of with them on this. Mostly doing away with the light show but also the announcer. If the fans love him and he wasn't shit at the job why replace him?

That said, I'm off to have an acid shower. Unclean, unclean!

I think I agree with you. The overall match day experience line sounds like the sort of nonsense they're complaining about but other than that they've got a point.

I tell you what makes me laugh about all this - their comments about "it's not the Palace way, it's the kind of thing Brighton would do"

Let's see:
Sell out to Yanks - Palace did that
Light show - Palace did that
Disco music blaring in the away end at half time - Palace did that
Firing t-shirts into the crowd - Palace did that
Firing t-shirts with pics of away team legends into the away end - Palace did that
Drums - Palace did that
Bloke with megaphone geeing up the crowd - Palace did that
Goal music - Palace did that
Replace fan who announced team with urban boi Man U fan, blud - Palace did that
Matchday helpers to direct people to the stadium - Palace did that
Start a petition to ban a player who was awarded a dodgy penalty - Palace did that
Sign that same player the following season - Palace did that

Marvellous innit?

Buzzer, you forgot that banal idea of the announcer shouting out the Christian name of the goalscorer expecting the crowd to finish off with his surname.

Obviously they might have stopped doing that. Or they might not. There's no way you can actually tell these days. Lolz

It is strange that they define themselves as some kind of cross between Millwall, St Pauli and Barnestoneworth United whilst everyone else in football has always seen them as the embodiment of fur coat no knickers flash, sashed shirted soccerball plasticity.
