I'm pleased they're doing well. I went to see them last week and it was great. I haven't seen that many kids at a game since the Goldstone in the seventies which, to me, is a very good thing for the game.
I saw a good game, played in the right spirit with a great atmosphere. It cost £14 to get in and I didn't have to pay to become a member of some colour-coded club. I just fancied a game, drove up and paid on the gate.
The matchday announcer gave out the crowd of over 3,000 which "includes 73 who have come down from Mansfield". They got a friendly and genuine ovation and all took a bow.
Ive seen Crawley a few times recently and have been very impressed with what I saw, some of the football they play is very good and in players like Tubbs (as I have said many times before am gobsmacked he is not on Brighton's Radar as he is something very special indeed) have the potential to go to league 1 next season. I dont for one moment think that they will affect Brightons fan base (Brighton selling out week after week, 15k + Season tickets sold already, Crawley averaging over 3200 for the last 5 home games, so proof in the pudding) and I really wish them well for next season. They can actually sow it all up tonight with a win at York and a defeat for Luton, so fingers crossed for them.
