Or maybe they want what they feel they have paid for.
Imagine this, you're flying with Virgin and it cost £750. You got a nice seat, good service, free food and drink. Happy customer
Next month you fly with Virgin again at the cost of £850 (same destination). You get a nice seat, no complimentary food and the service is poor. You're entitled to question why you're paying more for what appears to be product of lesser quality.

What you have described here is British Airways over the past 10 years.

Really, do you really think that's the answer?
Not for me I loves it.

But to listen/read many you'd think it was such a hardship to follow the Albion playing it's best football in 30 years, in a fantastic stadium, serviced by decent transport links, that perhaps it's not for them.

I had an issue with the connotation of 'hatchet man'.

He's not a hatchet man he's just doing his job, laid down by TB.
The moment he doesn't I'm sure he'll be shown the door.
And by doing his job he appears to be the villain. Nothing will change that. Barber could end up be an absolute legend, if he pulls this FFP off and we do get rewarded at the expense of those who have flouted the rules then he will have done very well, as long as it ends up benefiting the team/club/fans.

It's not an option for thousands of us, but the stage of transition we are in we do not need to make 'newer' fans sceptical about renewing or scaring off new potential fans. We need as many tickets sold as possible, it worries me to hear people becoming dispirited by everything already.

i love the way people like you know that we have loads of money spare to throw at buying players. thats presuming there are actually good enough players available.
these fans that are so fickle they will walk away are deluded. by what you are aying in your last sentence, it means we must be promoted this season, get int the top 4 next season, win the premier the following and so on.
sorry, but it's all a load of b******s. our owner has invested a fortune in our club giving us a great stadium (14 years without one) and a state of the art training facility on the way. he got a manager (poyet) who improved our team not only to get us to top 10 championship team but playing good football. we now have a manager who GIVEN TIME will keep things going in the right direction.
i hate it when i see clubs chuck loads of money at their club, only to leave them in the shit. Leeds being a good example!!
i firmly believe tony bloom and his board do everything in brightons best interest.
i hope they ignore all the knobends like you that arev naive just want to have a go.

i'm sure deep down you are a good supporter. rant over
Where do i start with a moronic post like this?

Who said "We must be promoted this season or else" and all the other guff you spouted after that? No one sensible expects that. What people will expect is to be competitive in this league and if that means spending some money on the team then so be it. Brighton don't have a history of a big loyal fan base and if you think these fans will stick about then you are simply deluded.

First season at the Amex

1 million - Buckley
2.5 million CMS
500k Hoskins
Lua lua ?
250k Harley

These are off the top of my head.

2nd season season

Ulloa 2 miillion
Dobbie 300k
Crofts 300k

3rd season

Chicksen undisclosed.

Despite record gates and new sponsor deal. Record season ticket sales we have seen very little investment. People have every right to question the club ambitions. OKay knobend?

Why is this so difficult to grasp? We lost £8m last year.

Then surely it shows that the club cocked up big time then if we have the highest ST sales, 26000 fans on average, most who purchase beer, food, programmes, merchandise on a weekly basis and we are still losing that amount of money. Yes I know the stadium had a major influence on that but surely we make more money due to the reasons I listed

Yeah and at that point 'all hail Tony Bloom'!!

Because we (and pretty much every other football league side) spend far too much on player wages. I reckon we have a home match turnover of around £1m a game. At £10,000 a week, that's 2 players.

How much do you imagine it costs to run the club with the stadium and staff etc? Buttons?

Player wages is always the biggest bill. It would be the biggest reason why the club is reserved in making signings. The more you spend on a player the more he costs to keep.

You'd have to wonder what the club needs to do to please these fans.
It would seem to be a level of expenditure deemed unacceptable by TB.

Show is in the accounts were someone 'cocked up'? It's a question of having costs that were too high, Barber is reducing those costs, that means less of a loss, does it not?

Correct. It will be interesting to see what the accounts for 12/13 - the 2nd Amex season, but Barber's first season - look like when they come out in a couple of months.

I wonder if as a fan TB was happy watching that last night?....would love to know.
Yeah I bet he was feverishly pleasuring himself looking at all the money he was saving.

What a tw@tty thing to say.
