I got a red card at home.

It was decided that my mood was not compatible with a family environment so I trudged off to the woods with the dog via the offie for booze and fags (I’m not a smoker) to calm the **** down and collect my thoughts.

Creating the chances we do in the Premier League is astonishing. With the finishing we enjoyed under Hughton from the likes of Murray, Groß & Izzy, we’d be taking about the possibility of European football but this disease of missing chances first took hold in the Utd home game and has convinced all of our players that they can’t score, f***, it’s even convinced referees to blow the c***ing whistle if the ball goes in the back of the net for no apparent reason other than the shock of us scoring.

My only consolation is that we’ve really played well against the good sides and that could be our way out of this mess. Sam and his boys will go to bed tonight so pleased with the 3 points but aware that they are going to have to be the luckiest team in the division EVERY MATCH to escape; Fulham are also draw specialist and won’t overhaul us.

Time to pick up the positives.

But you do wonder how Bloom, Barber and co. are going to tackle this horrific disease of not being able to finish any chances. I now think that Maupay, Connolly & Trossard are too gone to be saved. We should get rid of them & Welbeck (too expensive with his injury record and finishing) and re-invest in a new front line full of confidence with the millions & millions we’ll get from selling Biss & White.

I really hope we do make a renewed rebuilding of our forward line. But I thought this would happen in the Summer too, and then in January. But Welbeck was deemed the answer. I have to say I did think this was a wee bit arrogant of us at the time.

I do also agree with Swamy and a couple of others that our midfield also need to score more. So I’d agree Trossards place should now also be under threat.

The recruitment team do a great job in all other areas of the pitch, full backs, CB, Center mids, just the not the forward line for whatever reason. We have to solve this though. Or we’ll never progress as a club.

I think this today, plus the Palace injustice is a pretty brutal feeling. Can’t imagine what it feels like for the players.

Missing 2 penalties is inexcusable for me and I’m livid with the team.

That said, despite our feeling right now... we’re not relegated yet. We still have the best GD. Still clear of the dropzone and a lot of points to play for.

One of your most sensible posts. I'd never thought I would agree with everything - well nearly everything apart from how the players feel - still getting paid their mega wages. Dunk was fuming but the rest? I don't know if they really hurt deep down.

Anyone...?

I actually felt physically sick (caused entirely by the Albion) for the first time (in years, and I mean bloody ages) when we missed the second pen... not since the dark days of league 2 have I felt that feeling. Hopelessness, that’s it...

Deserving to win (time and time again) and contriving to lose is a level of footballing misfortune I can’t quite get to grips with. If we were simply shit so be it, but this (and I hate to admit it, given the very serious nature of the real world right now) has got to me, I’ve lost my shit and I’m off for a cry in the bog.

I feel your pain mate and can only try to console you, Yes these last two results are hard to take but we will come back stronger, just remember # together, we are all hurting now but if there is any heart within these so called footballing Gods then this run will draw to an end and our Prem league survival will be attained and if not then they can f*ck right off, the championship aint too bad and least we'll have a chance to smash it again.

Again - yeah I totally agree, just to clarify (for all) I’m not comparing the old third division days to these in terms of predicament, moreover the helpless feeling re our inability to (well) score on so many occasions...

But you’re spot on, going down this time will see us compete at least a little better and that is a comforting thought :)

I was so angry Monday night but my overriding emotion after today's fiasco was sadness. I have reconciled myself to the fact that we are going down. I have no idea how we will do in the Championship next season or which players we will have left.

Sick.
Sick of all the so called supporters with their stupid look at me comments.
After that farce and injustice off the back of Monday they need our support not a kicking in the balls when they are hurting.
We should be doing what most other fans of other clubs would do and close ranks
Leave the lack of goals and Potter out for another day.
That is why I consider myself a supporter of the club.

Have you come out of the bog yet? Match of the day is about to start - that’ll cheer us up!

No idea why anyone should feel sick... admittedly I was a tad annoyed after we missed the second pen but on balance I think it's marvellous that our manager and team have decided collectively to liven up the run-in by letting vastly inferior footballing sides take points off us, closing the large gap to the bottom three adding real drama to the final part of the season. So excited ...
