Imagine the hype if we end up playing Argentina in the World Cup .. not checked the groups, is it likely?

I love the way the Argentines like to claim sovereignty over a set of islands they only occupied for a small time in history and of which 90% of the population are people wanting to remain a self governing British colony.

they ship oil from alaska or the middle east to refineries, probably elsewhere. they just need a point to hold it in between ships. the refinery is where the real valu eadd is, they wont be building any refineries in Argentina. it will all come here.

If not, Uruguay  or Chile will bend over backwards to get involved and provide a site. Not just for the economic benefits, but because it'll be one in the eye for their neighbour too!

Not very likely if Maradona stays in charge - they'll be lucky to make it through the group stage.

Isn't that where this geezer lives? He didn't look overly concerned about things yesterday:

Love that line from the Secret Diary of Adrian Mole when Adrian's dad panics when he hears the Falklands have been invaded only to go back to sleep again when he finds out they're not located off Scotland.

No chance of the Argies having the Falklands. The UN is very clear about self-determination for disputed territories and the Falklanders are as pro British as anyone.

Oh, and sorry to throw a bit of pedantry into the mix, but does the Sun not realise that in UK English it's 141 metres.

Although it would be a parking meter.

That would have to be one big meter for HMS York. And just think of all the 50ps it would need.

141 meters to feed according to the Sun. So that wouold be about £70.50 for half an hour.

Let The Argies have a go at it. We have invaded many nations in history and in the last 2 decades. If they feel they have a claim to it let them crack on. If we win it stays ours, if tehy win it's theirs. Isn't that how it works?
