And guardsmen !!!!!

...I just went for the people the Argentinians were most scared of!

I guess I could have gone the whole hog and listed everyone who was involved...but it might have taken a while!

guards never get the credit for what they did there. hats off to them all.

this oil rubbish is bollocks. was given up when the barrel price was low not so long ago, the falklands is one of dozen places this is happening. the arctic is where its at and we dont want a row with the russians. in a few years this will seem laughable.

Just send the Argentinian newspapers a picture of a British submarine visiting Stanley and their govenment will STFU,or be changed rapidly to a government that believes in keeping their ships afloat!:D

Sold off anything that her government turned around it should read, lets think for a minute BA losing millions each year, the GPO again losing money and union led, British Steel ditto, British Leyland ditto, Coal ditto the list goes on. Sold off and the debt left from Labour turned into something the Scottish twat would not understand a surplus. Government borrowing at zero and a rebate, yes a rebate from the Labour loving European Union.
Every thing Brown touches turns to shit even the gold we had.

She didn't sell off the GPO! The GPO became the Post Office in 1969 and sold off BT after she spilt the Post Office in 1981.

I thought the Falklands are actually closer to Chile than the Argies anyway. So if anyone has a claim it is them.

However, it is clearly British.:clap2:

No they aren't and to be fair to the Argies there wasn't a lot of interest in the islands from Britain before 1833, but I think the Spanish - from whom the Argies got independence, - did try to colonise it before then..

But of course it's the people who live there now who should be listened to. Unfortunately as Iraq proved, sitting on loads of oil kind of alters political perceptions....:glare:

Yes she dragged the country up from its knees so she could castrate it..

I remember the delegation from the Falklands islands the year before the invasion going to UK to ask for full British citizenship, which was refused...and they remained a British dependency.
Strangely, they got it after the Argentinians invaded.
And lets be honest...it was never about the sheep herders that lived there, its always been touted as a base of operations
for the oil industry.

I can't understand why we don't go down the French route and make the Islands an integral part of the UK. They could have an MP in Parliament etc.

Unfortunately we seem to have a built-in bias against copying ANYTHING anyone in Europe does...
