I don't think JK Rowling does happy endings. When you go around killing Professor Dumbledore, you know the woman has a cold, cold heart.

So I'm going to go for at least one of Ron & Hermione dead, probably in defending Harry from He Who Shall Not Be Named yet again.

I think there has to be some twist involving the mysterious Aunt Petunia, leaving Harry to console himself with nothing but a photo of Mum & Dad and the affections of Ron's ginger sister...

Frank...any comments on this one?

What ? All I know is that Harry Potter is a kid's book and that's a good enough reason to ignore it. What next ? Noddy ? The Famous Five ? Time for a Guitar Hero thread Dave.

The girl who plays Hermione was in Borders in Oxford today. Daniel Craig was in Oxford earlier this week, as filming for The Golden Compass has begun. A few weeks ago, Elijah Wood was in town, filming The Oxford Murders. There is no room to film anything in Oxford now. The annual invasion of language students has arrived.

And the day of Braintree away, something to read for the journey!

I'm currently on the 5th one having started reading them about 2 months ago, so hopefully would have finished the 6th one by then

Has anyone pre-ordered it?

If so do you know if its a hard back or a paper back copy that will be coming out on the 21st?

As i have the other 6 in paper back and being a bit of a completist i don't really want to get the last one as a hardback

It will be hardback.

I shall have to wait patiently until Ned has finished it before I get a look in.

It'll be delayed - probably because the publisher hasn't got his scabby finger out. And then when it does appear it'll be a Pinter farce. Or crap. Or both. Better surely to go down the garden now and start eating worms. Otherwise there's a danger of optimism creeping in...

i reckon voldemort can't be killed unless harry sacrifices himself as all of his power actually came from voldemort's attack and their lives and deaths must be linked. i'd be very surprised if he lives.

Indeed, they must both die...

Plus JK Rowling is so adamant that this is the end of the series that I'm certain Harry will be killed off as seems keen for it to end... and much as i enjoyed the books, i agree..
