First item on BBC radio 4 news. Quite mainstream now.
Just to be clear, according to the article an amendment was voted on (9:15pm, February 23rd) without any notice from the media.
The amendment would have amended Offical Secrets laws to give protections to whistle blowers if giving evidence to an official inquiry or investigation into child sexual abuse.
The vote failed. Theresa May voted against it. I hope someone is going to ask her why she decided to do that, because for the life of me I cannot work it out.
John Mann, Labour MP, moved the amendment to insert the following clause in the OSA: “It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under any provision of this Act to prove that he knew, or had reasonable cause to believe, that the information, document or article disclosed was a) germane to an official investigation of, or inquiry into, historic child abuse, and b) provided only to an officer of such an investigation or inquiry.”
Mann told Exaro: “It would not have undermined the Official Secrets Act.”
“The amendment was in for quite a period of time. I am aware that Zac Goldsmith, a Conservative MP who backed the proposal, raised it. It was not a last-minute thing, and was not something that MPs did not have time to consider.”
This is the full list of how MPs voted on Mann’s proposed amendment to the OSA, broken down by party.

Absolutely no surprise. I wonder which one?..

To me it's clear there is a huge cover up going on here, and that in the past anyone who tried to out it was silenced. Jill Dando spring to mind as a case that seemed to be a professional murder, and still unsolved, just as she was about to expose a big paedophile ring.
I'm suprised it's just one. Prince Charles, our future king, has an especially poor record when it comes to selecting friends that aren't paedophiles.
I'm damn sure it's not just one. Just wondering which one of them the copper in the article is referring to
Tory MP Enoch Powell investigated as alleged member of Westminster paedophile network
Enoch Powell, the Conservative anti-immigrant firebrand, is being investigated as an alleged member of a claimed Westminster paedophile network after his name was supplied to police by a senior Anglican bishop.
The name of the late MP, one of the most divisive politicians of the late 20th century, was provided to Scotland Yard after a clergyman came forward with claims from the 1980s relating to ritual satanic abuse.
Pretty disgusting if true.
