Alexander-Arnold just now showing how Liverpool could be vulnerable. A very over confident attempt at a nutmeg that didn’t work led to him being - and I’m quoting my teenage son here - “mugged off by a Montenegrin farmer”.

Liverpool must count themselves lucky to be 8 points clear at the top of the table then ? They should be grateful they don't come up against Montenegran farmers on a weekly basis.

:lolol:

My post was tongue in cheek Veg. I think the real issue with dealing with Liverpool and TAA is that, despite being their defensive weak link, he’ll create four or five chances to every one he allows.

I must admit Liverpool have not done so well on clean sheets this season, I even dumped Virgil last week from my fantasy team, however, he's the future and, we did win 7-0 !

Don’t get me wrong. TAA is my preferred starting England right back. I’m just clutching at straws ahead of our game at Anfield. If we attack Van Dijk we’re Donald Ducked.

Never going to bother watching England at Wembley again... Total shambles getting in, despite getting to Wembley Park just after 7 we didn't make it into the ground until it was already 3-0. Atmosphere was shit, mainly casual fans lobbing paper aeroplanes and trying to start Mexican waves. £19 for three bottles of piss water Budweiser as well. Waste of time, money and effort.

Just watched the ITV highlights and can only assume there was no VAR tonight?
Stones and Gomez getting caps tonight and Lewis Dunk nowhere near this team. I give up.

Surely it’s worth it to see those giant flags being waved by a paid customer liaison officer behind the goal when we score? Plus the FA’s half time lotto ‘pin the flag on the map’ to indicate where tonight’s opposition is from. Believe there were no winners tonight so it’s a rollover to next months friendly against Piedmont FDR or some other Alpine goat community that UEFA has just deemed a footballing nation.

Hang on we turn this team over 7-0. Scotland would struggle to get a a 2-0 at home. Its the nature of the beast we have to get through it to qualify. Lets be ****ing greatful we are doing it with ease there has been times where we havent. Bring on next summer. I cant wait.

Appears to have a transport breakdown tonight. Got to Shepherds Bush overland at 6:45 ish to go home and had to wait for a train south for 45 minutes. Talking to them there, the trains going North towards Wembley were rammed. If you get people pushing too hard on the doors (like the tube) the train automatically stops apparently.

Took them ages to re-regulate the service.

Weird stance to take when the complete opposite is happening, with more and more English players going abroad

Sancho at Dortmund is the obvious one, but even if we ignore Smalling & Trippier there’s certainly a rise in talented young British players going abroad now. There’s Lookman at Leipzig, two young English lads at Barca, one at Juventus, players at Sampdoria, Fiorentina, Lyon, Monaco, M’gladbach, PSV etc. A lot of these are players who left English clubs because they think they’ll get more chance abroad too, rather than because they weren’t good enough where they were. Reo Griffiths scored 27 in 20 for Spurs U-18’s and then decided to move to Lyon.

That’s without considering the likes of Kenny, Smith-Rowe, Nelson & Ampadu who have either had a loan spell in the Bundesliga or are currently out there.

There probably hasn’t been a time when there’s been more English lads abroad, and it’s only going to grow.

Those were kids or ones not good enough for the top clubs they were at, I'm speaking in terms of top players at this time. The PL money and the big boys spending power is too big. You might get the odd cherry-picked but realistically we aren't going to see an England team any time soon where the best 3-4 players all play outside the Premier League. Even of the ones you mention Sancho is almost certainly going to end up back in the PL at some point in the next 18 months at one of the top 6.

Looking forward to seeing England take Europe’s top sides apart now, we are obviously world beaters after that performance. Harry Kane top goalscorer in the Euros?

We'll never have a better chance of winning the thing.

All 3 of our group games will be at Wembley. If we win the group, then the 2nd round game will be in Dublin, the QF would be in Rome, then the SF and Final back at Wembley. Practically a home tournament.

The draw is on 30th November, with some caveats for for Playoffs so there'll still be some blanks.

And still they dream :lolol:

We’ll be going out in Glorious Failure to the first decent team we come up against, having flattered to deceive against the minnows.

It's possible we could end up with the most difficult group though.

Will be interesting if we do. I still think we're flat track bullies, scoring for fun against lesser teams but struggling against the big boys. We have had one or two good results against decent teams though (e.g. Spain). The venues look set up for us - let's hope we turn up against the better sides.

I'm cautiously optimistic of us going DEEP

Interestingly, Wayne Rooney is no longer England's all-time top goalscorer. After last night, that honour now goes to OG (54).
