Worthing
must be the laughing stock in International Cricket. With our current form I don't think we'd even beat Zimbabwe or Bangladesh or the Faroe Islands ( if they had a team )

Pack your bags and come home boys, you are embarrassing yourselves and our nation !!!!!

The ECB should never have let Cooley leave the setup.

In a One Day series, we need one day specialists. Why call up Mal Loye when we have injuries and why ignore players like Dmitri Marscapone. Afzaal or Shah with the bat?

We could go on all day about the coaching, selection and captaincy. However, all winter, the batsmen have not performed.

Strauss hasn't hit an innings of note yet, Cook lacked consistency, Bell has had a hard winter, I could go on.

They need to man up or we'll not win a game at the world cup.

Just chuckling at Charlton
But their tactics in one day cricket are at best strange and at worst ludicrous, they never take advantage of the Power plays and after 30 overs we hadn't made 100! The Aussies must piss themselves watching that drivel!

Wise words BOF. I would also suggest that a certain Michael Yardy looked rather good in the 1 dayers for England last year

Strange one that wasn't it. He looked the better of the containing bowlers and nurdled the ball around like an old pro. Should be given a proper chance.

Still, he's captaining on the A tour in March which can only be good for the future of Sussex as he's next in line.

How did I fail to mention Yardy!? :dunce:

Would be very handy batting at number 7 or so and slowing the ball down. He proved to be very difficult to bat against in the ODIs and the Twenty20... Let's hope he shows his worth on the A tour and can grab a place in the World Cup.

if yardy gets in the team we will have a team full of batsmen that knock the balls round for singles, will not work especially in power plays, as the last 2 games against new zealand have proved

need big hitters, loye will be good, maybe james benning is worth a look. we need a mix of big hitters and touch players

Seriously Yardy should never have been dropped from the one day set up, but i honestly don't think the management have a clue what their best 11 is.

Part of the issue has been that rather than picking a team suitable for one day cricket, too often Fletcher has used it as a vehicle to blood players in international cricket so they can be used in the test side.

That and they have never been able to replace Gough and so have no bowler who can bowl a tight spell at the death of the innings.

we bowled well at the death today, flintoff and anderson
took 5 wickets in the last 3 overs
didnt conceed many either, was just the middle bit when they went from 67/5 to 170/6 - collingwood, lewis, panesar didnt look like they were going to take anything
