This is bad news and worse is to come. When the remaining structure is demolished the international media will have a field day, portraying the city in a very poor light.
No ground and no pier! Bodfish is merely presiding over a glorified chimps tea party.
Will we become a city with just one pier or is a new, more modern pier going to be built on the site of the old one? A serious question. Does anyone know?
when was the last new development in brighton, Churchill square for f*cks sake!
i saw the pier on tuesday after not seing it since the fire.
the only people to blame for this is the nimbys in regency sqaure, a decent proposal was put forward but of course residents complained about 2 ,attractive in my opinion, glass buildings to each side of the pier on the lower promonade.
they hardly peeked above the upper promonade and were definately not an eye sore.
the city is so anti-progression, the only reason the seafront development went through was because brighton was at a particular low point in the mid nineties.
its embaressing.
don't blame londoners, they've bought loads of money in to the town which, to be fair, was a shit hole 10 years ago. areas like southover street, seven dials and five ways have benfitted from young 'media -types' paying money and improving the areas.
