I've never really understood this either. Surely it would be a better policy for the station staff to clear the platform by instructing those who want to go to a different destination beyond Lewes to change there. This would allow the queues to clear a bit more quickly. I'm always amazed at the number of people who don't board the first train to arrive and doggedly wait for 'their' train.

Does that mean the closest mast to the ground is an EE one and therefore gives preference to EE users? I've no idea how this works ... so possibly talking out of my wotsit as usual... but something must be happening if some can get on and others can't. It really shouldn't be a problem in this day and age ...
I'm an EE customer and I find it more or less impossible to get network coverage when I am either in the stadium or around Falmer. Get the other side of the Falmer tunnel on the train & on the outskirts of Lewes, then no problem.
As others have said, the stadium wi-fi is very hit and miss.
Could you provide an update if you manage to get an answer

One of the advantages of 5G was supposed to be that more users could connect - including at big events.
Will 5G solve signal issues at stadiums, festivals and venues?
Despite appearing to have a good solid 5G connection when in and around the Amex, I'm not seeing that advantage!!

I was thinking about the atmosphere on Saturday on the train back to New MIlton.
I just thought how 'Fulham' we have become, all too friendly and family oriented. Don't get me wrong we need the younger generation to get involved and enjoy themselves but we have lost our guts. Our players are the same. They don't hound the Ref or get in their faces like we see other teams do. Aston Villa and Man Utd are a prime example.

New Milton! My first full time job was in New Milton, back in 1978!! NatWest Bank on Station Road by the traffic lights! I'm guessing it's no longer there??

No one is ever going to be happy about the train situation, its never going to be quick to get out of the stadium and compared to other clubs (Bolton, Aston Villa, Tottenham, West Ham to name a few) the service is actually good! I've never in the entire 11 years of the Amex missed kick off, and I get the train to most, and since the premier league every game (bar the boxing day games), the times I've come closest to missing it is via P&R and driving. I also stay in the concourse and very rarely get into town later than 6, and if I've left on the final whistle very rarely later than 5.30. Which point to point isn't unreasonable for a journey from the uni, let alone when 30,000 people converge on the same point at the same time. I don't really know what more anyone can do to make it quicker unless want to build a 12 carriage long turnback siding outside Falmer and a complete overhaul of the signalling system in that area. The reason people have left early in the last few games is because we are losing, and no hope of coming back. People who leave 5 minutes early every game are going to do it regardless of whether there's a five minute journey into town or a half hour.

My issue may be that I only have a 4g phone.....
Most PL grounds are a bit shite to get away from TBH...........whether it's traffic (eg Villa, Wolves, Palace, Man U, Leicester, Norwich) or queuing for trains, trams or a long walk to the station (eg Arsenal, Spurs, Palace again, Chelsea, Man U again) - the Amex is somewhere in the middle in reality most of the time. Just part and parcel of going to a game really - if anyone can save 30 mins on their journey by leaving early it's hardly surprising lots do, particularly when the game's dead. Easiest away trip this season for me so far was Watford - that, of course, was because most of the home fans had long since pissed off by the final whistle.
I actually work in this space, and really 5G and WiFi should work together. The US are all over this kind of stuff, because the more engaged and 'connected' fans are, the longer they stick around and the more they spend. The issue in the UK is generally fans get in within an hour before pick off, 15 minute half time, and most fans have left by the 85th minute
facepalm: ) so in turn the investment in this space is generally low over here. I doubt the mobile operators are investing especially heavily around stadiums, although I know Liverpool have been doing a lot of work here.The WiFi has improved at the AmEx but has been struggling of late. However despite all the money sloshing around in the Premier League, they never want to spend on this stuff and instead expect companies to 'invest' and generally expect cost neutral or advantageous to the club in terms of deals for WiFi etc in return for sponsorship deals.
Funnily enough the clubs who do better are the ones tied to NFL teams etc, who 'get it' and view things around fan engagement slightly differently.

I think the issue is that everybody centres on getting back into town, rather than people dissipating into the local area (i.e. not a train station).
