Still can't believe that refereeing performance.
Whilst I love the Amex and would never want to see the club return to a ground like The Withdean, a part of me does miss being able to hear one bloke in the crowd yelling "it was the Bournemouth players arm ref!" clearly.
Clearly outside the box, and the wrong player's arm. Great work refereeing team.

Unnerved me a bit quite how aggressively he celebrated his goal against us having just left, but otherwise seems alright.

Of course he should be in the national team. Said so two years ago and seen no reason to change my mind on that.

Well, I like Eddie and I reckon he’s a pretty good manager.

Bit of over the top emotions on here by some of our number, I reckon.
Tough titty, I like Eddie and I reckon he’s a pretty good manager as well.😁👍

I had nothing against Howe. Until he went to Newcastle to help sportswash the murderers, and then got all uptight when held to account for his decision. Either he thinks it's just fine to be working for the Saudis. Or the money over-rode his conscience. Either way, he loses in my estimation. Feck him.

Dan Burn I am in more of a quandary over. I just wish he hadn't gone. I liked him.

You are quite rightly entitled to your opinion....even if it's a wrong one.
He is a good manager, but don't let that ability cloud his smugness

Logically, you should ‘feck’ Dan Burn as well.

The only conundrum for me is why we didn’t ask for more money, £13m wasn’t it, gotta be at least £20m. Or more. Newcastle would have got their man, and we wouldn’t have stood in Burn’s way to go and play for his boyhood club, so long as they pay a fair fee.
Don’t know why Brighton fans care about the fee it’s not like we go out and sign some real first team quality after a big sale.

Good for him, but let's not pretend he was ever the second coming of Bobby Moore. He put in a shift for us every time he played but he was never going to start for us ahead of Webster, Veltman or Dunk because all three are better players. We got decent money for a 29-year-old player with not much of his contract remaining, so everyone's a winner. The idea of him going to the World Cup says more about the chaotic state of the England squad under that phoney, Southgate, than about BDB's ability.

Barney Ronay wrote a nice piece on BDB's performance against Arsenal:

With Bissouma and Cucurella struggling to find their feet at their new clubs, there is a slight concern that our business model of develop players and sell them to the one percenters could hit a rocky patch if the players who leave don't perform as well as they did for us. I don't have any time for Newcastle, or for Howe, but good on Dan Burn for exceeding expectations. When asked how we got £60M+ for a left back, we can always point at BDB and say that we should have asked it for two left backs.

All credit to Burn and Howe and how wrong I was. I always thought he was a good left sided CB and was a poor LB. Unless I am wrong From what I see it looks like he now plays LB and has been very good.

He was always a better l/b than c/b because he can't direct a header.

As you say Dan Burn has flourished and so has Ben White.

He has been excellent and is the type of character that dressing room needed. He knows he'll be replaced either this window or next, but he's never been afraid of working hard in order to get his opportunity in a squad and a team. He's an excellent professional and thoroughly deserves the success his career is having. He's another example of not writing a player off aged 23/24/25/26.

But I do suspect the narrative would be a little bit different if the penalty were given against him at the Emirates for hauling Gabriel down. It was pretty obviously a penalty and it was a clumsy challenge he didn't need to have made.

He's a smug prick. Started in the video below with Steve Fletcher the cheating bastard.

I also remember him briefly managing Burnley and when they played us we were down to 9 men after about half an hour. Think Ashley Barnes (ironically) got sent off for head butting one of their players studs. We lost 1 0 but CMS nearly equalised right at the death.

He does seem to hold some sort of curse over us.

My lad who is 9 now took it really badly when BDB left, he had only really been following properly that season and had no concept of transfers whatsoever!! He has never forgiven Newcastle, hates them with a passion and will probably carry it all his life. Because of this he was better prepared for Bis and Cucurella leaving but Newcastle will always be second only to Palace for him😊
