Started reading it yesterday, and couldn't put it down, cover to cover. The BEST football book ever (apart from Build a Bonfire). It's fiction, sort of, the author pretends he is Brian Clough, and it tells the story, day by day, of his reign at Leeds United, and also what he did beforehand (the Albion get the occasional mention). His relationship with Peter Taylor, players, fans, the media, his own inner demons, all laid out.

Whoever recommended it on NSC :bowdown:

Great book. It's fiction that makes you believe it's fact. There is a fim being made of it

It's an astonishing read. Essentially puts you inside Brian Clough's head, which is a very turbulent place!

The picture painted of Mike Bamber in the book is very positive and Peter Taylor's loyalty to us-he refuses to join Clough at Leeds-is also a feature.

In London village.
Another thumbs up. Initially a bit wary about David Peace, but a great book.

Really enoyable read, it is difficult to keep the fact that it is fiction in mind. Impressed by David Peace and after some of his other books now.

His photo on the back cover makes him look extremely pretentious though.
