Do oyu have a will? Where is it held and do you keep a copy? In which case a fire safe could come in very handy. I have no issue with people having safes in their houses.

I would NEVER EVER have a daily mail in my house though :D

Will - in my bank, if said bank burns down I doubt the other copy in my house will burn the same night as the bank is 2 miles away :D

I have an allegedly fireproof safe here, but a: I've never tested it... and b: its not sold as a "laptop safe"...

Anything critical data wise should be backed up off-site anyway.

I bought a fire proof box to put our docs, wills and passports in from the supermarket.
I wouldn't call it a safe.

Until I moved back down south I hadn't heard of all this ridicule for the Daily Mail. It does seem to be a southern type attitude. I wouldn't say it was a particularly middle class paper.
I stopped buying daily papers over 10 years ago and only read the news online nowadays.
