Is this not a classic bull trap moment?

Didn't one of the Kennedy's once say, when the NSC posters are saying the market is only going up, it's time to get out...

Ish.

Joe Kennedy said: "You know it's time to sell when shoeshine boys give you stock tips. This bull market is over."

long term maybe, short term this rise has caught all pundits unawares. expect this is a massive short squeeze.

I'm waiting for the inevitable crash and loading up then.

Not sure the crash is 'inevitable' but can see another leg down. Not sure we have hit capitulation/despondence/depression yet.

Agree the speed has and agree a sensible correction (40/50%?) is probably well due but 2018/19 market pattern was an exact replica of 2014/15 so expect a slow and gradual build from then.

It's just not likely to drop below Febs $3600 ever again.

Price pump on the back of Facebook's announced 'cryptocurrency'. Regulators are on its case already. Good luck to those who HODLed to try and claw back some of their severe losses. And even greater luck trying to get your withdrawal processed. More likely you'll be robbed by the exchange you're using via a fake hack. And PLEASE don't become one of the new tranche of Greater Fools for more funds than you can afford to lose.

Nothing to do with FB announcement! Becoming more and more accepted worldwide, soon to be regulated and now institutions are coming in and to go along with that the charts are totally bullish!

Easy to get it out as Coinbase now does instant Paypal transfers and some were wise to get in and near year lows at approx £5k so no losses to claw back there but thks for the concern!

Yup, and duly came to pass. Didn't take very long at all. Moon lambo aborted once again :lolol:

For bitcoin at least, the advice given on here on the 26/06 that it was only going one way was partially correct, only getting the direction of travel wrong...

A good time to pile in?
difficult to say, may be a techincal move (head and shoulders pattern points to large drop) or large sell off of BTC from a scam. or, the party is simply over. stonking one day drop even for bitcoin. substantial volume.

A good time to pile in?

Absolutely not. This is one investment that really could be worth zip. Piling in now to dividend paying companies in boring relatively safe sectors (e g GSK, Unilever) is one thing. Playing Dutch tulips with a chimera is entirely another.

And I am not piling in on anything at the moment. Hold 50% cash but fingers smouldering on the other 50%; time will come but not yet.
