Today in that second half it felt like the crowd and the team were in sync. I was convinced the lengthy stoppage for the linesman's mike would kill our momentum but we picked up from where we left off. Bringing on Baleba at h/t lifted everyone, while JP and MOR coming on just ramped it up even more. The ref too was stirring things up. A combination of one-off factors that contributed to a cracking atmosphere.
I was going to say Baleba coming on and instantly making a big difference seemed to ramp things up! The man is a marvel.
and I loved watching Haaland just bounce off him…..!

Think you need to get your hearing checked! That's rubbish, surely. We can hear the away fans singing from the other end of the stadium in the North - even when not all of them (city fans were good first half - silent second!). Surely that means they can hear us too - it was bloody loud most of the second half
I am in 1901 south end of the west stand and also didn't hear TB's blue and white army. The north always sound very quiet from where we are sitting, as professor plumb said atmosphere only gets going for us when catches on around other parts of the stadium.

Fair enough, but I just don't understand that considering we can hear away fans in the North- even when just a section of them as I mentioned. Surely the noise doesn't travel that badly!?

Unfortunately it does, it's the one bad thing about the Amex, I just don't think the North is big enough (deep/ high enough) to carry sound across the stadium. The Man City fans were very loud in the first half but I have sat in most parts of the stadium and would say that the sound travels better from the away section of the ground in general.

Having sat in the north for a long time, I’d go as far as to say we regularly heard absolutely nothing from the West and East stands, but on occasion would hear the away fans in the south.

It had me seriously concerned when we moved to the West. At times, the away fans have been much louder than the North, which can sound completely mute, albeit I am to the south side.

I just don’t think the sound travels well in the stadium. But I imagine to the players, it can be a totally different story.

Maybe some students from the Uni could be commissioned to carry out some research into the acoustics of the stadium

It's grim oop north
Thr players and managers always comment on the incredible atmosphere. Even when us fans think its been awful

All the sound must literally be generated to land on the pitch. Which isnt a bad thing if we're doing it to urge the players on. Only a bad thing for "atmosphere ego" perhaps

When its good it always comes across well on telly/radio, too, though

They can’t hear it. I’m a block and a half past halfway, towards the South. I didn’t hear TB's blue and white army at all. Apart from Albion, Albion the first thing I noticed from the north was You’re not singing anymore, after Pedro's goal. We only ever hear loud Brighton singing when it catches on across across the East. This isn’t a criticism of the North, just the acoustics in the stadium I guess. From where I am the away fans are always much louder.
I don't see how this is possible. At a number of points the whole home support was singing it (you could see it by the clapping) so there would have been people singing it very close to you.

Not listening / noticing. Because I am also south end of 1901 and heard it perfectly.

Good to be talking about exactly how loud The Amex is/can be. We can add "deafening" from an impartial TV commentator to David Blunkett's unparalleled in 50 years of football crowds "wall of noise forcefield". I'll take that.

Pearce isn't exactly impartial. 😁 He lives in Hassocks.

:D ... didn't know that... explains his ludicrous assertion that "the home crowd support has been amazing all evening"... City fans singing "Is this The Emirates?" obviously couldn't be heard in the Press Box..
