Deaths - 533, down 27.7%
Admissions - 1,490, rolling 7 day down 24.3%
Vaccs - 482k first doses, total 16.876m, 16k second doses, total 589k

Very much, a friend of mine so depressed he thought about killing himself, went to park to just have a kickabout with a mate (literally a goal post, while one person took shots at another in goal) was reported to the police for breaking lockdown, him meeting up with another friend literally saved his life. Understandably the police couldn’t care less and just let them carry on, people really need to get a grip with this, and stop seeing one another as the enemy. The good news twist is he is in a much better place now due to the optimism of the vaccine, and the optimism that brings people I’ve seen recently has really brought a lot of people out of their rut. I was amazed even how on Thursday simply a sunny day made myself and a lot of others a lot happier.

Someone on Twitter said recently that this past year has been paradise for curtain twitchers, grasses, busybodies, and narks.
The good news is, they’ll soon have to crawl back under their rocks, their power diminished, when the lockdowns go.
I’m hoping for a big improvement in mental health too.
Not sure it’s really ‘amiss’ - with around 60m people being called in there will be many mistakes, people wrongly classified etc. A few being called early is no different to a few being missed. Sure we all know of a few ‘odd’ call ups that don’t appear to make sense (we were discussing one last night). If she’s worried she can call her GP or the centre to check, but I know of at least one case where someone was ‘wrongly’ called up, checked with them and they said come in anyway, might as well get it done (I guess the admin involved in changing it is more hassle than simply doing it).

Infections - 10,406, rolling 7 day down 19.2%
Deaths - 445, rolling 7 day down 28.2% (think this is the biggest rolling 7 day drop so far in the second wave)
Admission - 1,492, rolling 7 day down 22.1%
Vaccinations - 371k first dose, 16k second dose. Total first jabs now 17.247 million
The numbers in hospital are worth pointing out - now below 20k, and less than 50% of where they were a month ago at the peak. The numbers here have been steadily declining on virtually a daily basis without the blips and fluctuations seen in some of the other data.

Certainly qualifies as good news if it comes to pass.
Whatever anyone's political views, this vaccine rollout has been done very well to date IMO - long may it continue.
On a personal note, if that target is met it will enable my fiancé and I to have our wedding as planned, so another piece of good news.

Chatting to a neighbour of mine yesterday who told me he had a text this week for his jab.......he's 48 and no underlying health issues.......i'm 53 and not heard about my jab and we are both with same surgery !!!!.
