1/ Very slightly phlegmy today.

Of course, this could be unconnected to the vaccine and I'm happy to report I feel absolutely fine.

Clinical trial results show tocilizumab reduced the risk of death and now patients outside of intensive care will be given the drug.

Just hoping my housebound dad gets his soon. Granted he's only 85 and there are people who are more of a priority than him but I thought he would have heard by now.

I did ring his GP surgery and was told there is a delay for some housebound residents and he would be written too soon.

Hope so.

Charlie Harper the lead singer of the UK subs had his jab over the weekend and that makes me happy.

My 65 year old Dad has just booked his jab. Hopefully my 63 year old mum won't have long to wait now the way this is going.

My wife was given tocilizumab along with dexamethasone in May last year when she was in ICU with COVID.

She was given the drugs on the recommendation of the oncology team who had treated her in February last year (again in ICU) when she had cytokine release syndrome (body's immune system goes into overdrive) following her cancer treatment.

At the time the doctor said the oncologist intervention had saved her life.

Very encouraging figures today. Brighton infection rate now down to 82 per 100k too. Vaccinations and lockdown continuing to have an effect.
