You could argue the Imperial College’s latest...comments(? Don’t want to call it forecasting or predicting) suggesting a potential overall toll of 5,700 for UK is good news compared to some other comments/predictions/thoughts.

Also suggesting we may hit our peak cases (approx 260) on 5th April, which feels a little soon as that’s just over a weeks’ time. I guess each day that passes we have so much more data and these modellers will become more accurate each time.

The benefits of the lockdown should begin to kick in quite soon, it's believed that you are only contagious for the first seven days so cases should start to dry up fairly soon.

...Is the correct answer - the term for the two little dots is an "umlaut" mark (¨) used over a vowel, especially in German, to indicate a different vowel quality. (thanks Wikipedia)

In addition, as New Student builds pop up over the next year or two together with huge drops in Students registering at our two institutions for the next academic year )Sussex has over 2,000 Chinese students, not sure if they’ll be coming back). Student will move from HMO’s
to purpose housing as the council drastically and profoundly cuts back on HMO licenses.

Rental and house prices should tumble in Brighton in the medium to long term. Many landlords are going to have to sell cheap as they won’t be able to cover their buy-to-let mortgages. This will mean more families in Brighton which is amazing news for pretty much everyone in our fair City.

Not if there's huge negative equity. Effectively that will kill the market stone dead as no one moves and has the potential for runs on banks and building societies as people simply hand in their keys. Not something you need in a depression.

House prices becoming reasonable seems to be a good news story on the face of it but if you are redundant and the equity in your house is all you have it's not. Never mind that many people will be suddenly inheriting property from dead elderly relatives that they have no way of moving on.

Most of these have been extended & converted, at great expense, to be HMO's. A house for 6-9 may not be suitable, or affordable, to a small family.

Spain’s coronavirus death toll has overtaken China’s, climbing to 3,434, while a slowdown in the rate of new infections in Italy has raised hopes that the peak of its outbreak could be within sight.

After more than a week in lockdown in Spain, another 738 people died over 24 hours, but officials expressed hope that the daily rise in deaths might be stabilising. “If we are not already at the peak, we are very close,” said Fernando Simón, the head of Spain’s health emergency centre.

Among the country’s newest confirmed cases is the deputy prime minister, Carmen Calvo, who was taken to hospital on Sunday with a respiratory infection. The latest to die include two doctors who had been on the frontlines of the pandemic.

Italy remains the centre of the crisis with a total of 7,503 deaths – more than double the number documented in China. The death toll in Italy rose by 683 on Wednesday, a decline in the daily rate following a spike the day before. The rate of new infections slowed for a fourth consecutive day, rising by 3,491 compared with 3,612 on Tuesday.

“This is an extremely positive factor,” said Ranieri Guerra, from the World Health Organization, of the slowing infection rate. “In some regions we are close to the falling point of the curve and therefore probably the peak could be reached this week and then fall,” he told Radio Capital. “I believe that this week and the first days of the next will be crucial.”
