606 cases lead to admission into hospital

383 of which had the same admission date as test result - which might mean they are in for something else.

Vaccine doing its job for the at risk

NHS told to identify patients actually sick from Covid-19 separately to those testing positive
Exclusive: Changes to the way hospitals collect data will make the impact of the virus on the NHS look better

Hospitals have been told to change the way they collect data on patients infected with coronavirus to differentiate between those actually sick with symptoms and those who test positive while seeking treatment for something else.

The move would reduce the overall number of patients in hospital for coronavirus as until now data from hospitals has included all patients who tested positive for Covid-19, regardless of whether they had symptoms or not.

NHS England has instructed hospitals to make the change to the daily flow of data sent by NHS trusts and told The Independent that the move was being done to help analyse the effect of the vaccine programme and whether it was successfully reducing Covid-19 sickness

One NHS source said the new data would be “more realistic” as not all patients were sick with the virus, adding: “But it will make figures look better as there have always been some, for example stroke [patients], who also had Covid as an incidental finding”.

Good news for Danes

Denmark has announced the easing of several Covid measures, regarding the use of face masks, bar and restaurant opening hours, and crowd sizes at Euro matches as it prepares to lift all restrictions by 1 October.

It also plans to phase out its "corona pass" required for some activities by the same date.

"We will be able to do everything that we have missed, because we now have the epidemic under control," Health Minister Magnus Heunicke told reporters.

Masks will no longer be required as of 14 June, except on public transport during rush hour and for standing passengers. That requirement will subsequently be lifted on 1 September.

Bars and restaurants will be allowed to stay open until midnight as of 11 June, compared to 11pm currently. As of 15 July, they will be allowed to remain open until 2am.

Nightclubs will be authorised to reopen on 1 September, but people will need to show a "corona pass" to enter until 1 October.

The document, which certifies that the bearer has either tested negative for the virus or is immune, will be phased out entirely by 1 October.

Museums, cinemas and theatres will no longer require it as of 1 August, and bars and restaurants as of 1 September.

Up to 10,000 people will be allowed at public events of 14 June.

For those who had the Moderna vaccine at the Brighton Centre, you can now rebook to a date two weeks earlier. I just moved mine from July 13th to June 29th.

Thanks for this tip, informed my better half who has in the last 5 minutes been able to pull hers forward to 29th June from 14 July [emoji106]

BBC have a nice graphic which shows in all four countries of the UK there are over 50% of people already with both jabs.
