Spent an evening in the bar at Butlins sporting weekend with Phil Taylor and Dennis Priestly in the 90s after playing Bullseye with DP. We had a cracking evening with two very down to earth blokes who were really enjoying their night out. Was a bit before darts went mad.

Meeting Liam Brady & Gerry Ryan at the Gulls Eye sponsored match at the Goldstone was great too. Smashing blokes who had time for everyone.

Stirling Moss

Gordon Murray, unbelievably laid back cool dude, and a genius to boot.

Are you sure about Moss, when I met him he was Hamilton-like?

Could you have met him on a book signing or something?

As opposed to a bitter twisted Jackie Stewart, sounds good to this F1 fan

I have never met any of them but have seen loads of footage of all three and would plump for meeting Lewis and Stirling ( sadly no longer possible) every time

I think Graham Hill was also a self obsessed arse

Sorry Icy, but Sir Jackie is the only man who is genuine and not up his own arse out of that trio.

It's not on Full fact, but it is, very true.

From my earlier post I was only 10 but noticed:

Rindt was very quiet and didn't really mix with anyone

Hailwood was a great socialiser and held court with the other drivers

Stewart had his Wife with him and didn't say too much

Surtees spent a lot of his time talking with MTB (both Multiple TT winners and world champs) but was very polite when I brushed past him and spilt his drink.

Hill was the noisiest by far, reckoned he would walk the race the following day (he didn't - Surtees did with Rindt second)

However - Diana Rigg for me. Exuded all the class and elegance of a woman who was at the cutting edge of cool in the swinging 60's yet even as an older lady (I met her maybe 5 years ago) she had stories to tell that I listened to like a 6 year old kid having a story read to him.

Dianna Rigg was effortlessly cool and together with Patrick Mcnee made The Avengers one of the coolest series of the 60's. She was also the best Bond girl ever and judging, by her appearances on Morecambe and Wise, an accomplished comedienne.

Whilst Garry Nelson offering to buy me a cup of tea at Northbrook College was cool, breakfast with Kevin Rolland the day of the last general election was a massive consolation after Boris won. Kevin was an absolute gent and awesome company.

Holiday in Miami his daughter was dancing in a show in one of the hotels it really was just a shake of hands and a quick photo
But will always stay with me

His last UK visit circa 07/08 was offered a meet and greet and photo etc for £1500, me and my mate effectively got ‘talked out’ of it by our respective partners, still one of biggest regrets of my life.

I have an autographed pair of the iconic White Everlast shorts, which will be passed on to the first Harty Grandchild whatever their gender ❤️

Jochen Rindt was a hero of mine, on that subject'ish I met Donald Campbell in Haywards Heath many moons ago!

Donald Campbell was a cool man indeed, his dad however was not in the same class as Donald, as he was a pure gent. How did you get on with him?

From my earlier post I was only 10 but noticed:

Hailwood was a great socialiser and held court with the other drivers

Interesting insight on Mike Hailwood, I don't know as much about him as a character as I would have liked to, he was a class act, wasn't he?

As for Graham Hill, isn't it strange the father is so different to the son, as I have said above, Malcolm was very different from Donald as a character.

As for young ladies here is a very cool one.
Jenny Tinmouth.

I agree.

And her daughter is pure filth
