Ok, thanks for reminding us, I'm gonna call the club now and see if I can get hold of Gus, and remind him. I can't believe he's forgotten already, what a laugh our Gus is.

I expect Gus will make 4 phone calls by midday, and we'll have them down here for tomorrow's training.

I'll BRB, just hold on a bit longer, thanks xxx

Well let's hope that Gus get's his way. Say he does get two players to sign, a striker and Camacho, then the squad looks pretty good again and spirits are lifted, people are reassured, whether we sign a 1 million guy or not.

If Gus manages to sign 5 players then I think we will be serious contenders, with the current "SQUAD" we are good, but a top 10 team at best. It is encouraging though to see that he is after 5 new players, a left back, center back, central midfielder, left winger and striker, however it does deem to be a bit late in the day to be bringing in that volume of players considering 3/4 would make up the core of the team.

How is a top 10 team at best good? To me thats saying we're most likely to finish in the bottom half

Right, I just rang the club and apparently Gus is having a meal with Diego Maradona at the Little Chef, should be back soon.

Why does everybody think we can snap our fingers and suddenly players will come?
We don't have the budget!
We are still mid table in terms of our resources, until we are in Falmer and our turnover is increased then we might be actually somewhere close to breaking even.
As it stands right now the club still makes a massive loss each year and we would be wise to remember that.

Well if I don't see Diago Forlan in an Albion shirt at Wednesday on Saturday (wot?), then my season ticket goes in the bin! :tantrum:

Why do all these conversations on here about players, unrealistic expectations etc remind me constantly of Chris Morris's dialogue with Alan Partridge about Farmers?

"You, you promised we'd sign six players by yesterday! The fans are wandering around thinking 'we're a big club, we demand new players!' they don't know what's going on."

"Yes, well that's why we're about to risk the financial future of the club and bust our nuts signing all of Man City's rejects etc"

"Really?!"

"No you complete Cretin!"

I was taken in by Bloom's hasty words that we will have a good squad assembled by the start of the season. If i knew now about our flimsy squad building back then...then i wouldn't have bothered buying a season ticket to watch us finish around mid table.
There's no panic over Falmer seating as there's plenty of seats to go around so that's not the issue.
I wish i waited now and cherry picked the tasty matches worth seeing.
