I'm certainly not going. Bag of shit.

Bloody manager-types. "ooh - mix with the workers? No thanks matey. I'd rather go on team-building jaunts with all my other middle manager friends around the countryside."

Got the Simone White album for you when you're ready. How did you get on with the I am Sam album?

Yes, good mate. Not 100% sure yet what my plans are for next Friday, but maybe grab it off you in the Sportsman? [though there is still a chance that I may be in the family stand]. Def in FS for Gills though.

The 'team building' and the Xmas party were open to all, though! I wouldn't even be surprised if the party is cancelled due to lack of uptake. Possibly some departments have 'forced' their staff to go, but we had the opt out and evryone bar my boss took it! I'm pissed off really as I normally look forward to it.

Its always been local before so could have a good night and either get a cab home or crash on the sofa of one of the field staff who got rooms provided. Since last year though 3/4 of the company has moved to fancy new offices near City Airport, and so Southampton was no longer appropriate. Of course by extension of what had previously been considered 'appropriate' it should be in London, in a hotel, and rooms should be provided for the non-locals [the remaining 50-odd Southampton based]. They obviously baulked at the cost of that though, and have come up with this half-arsed Chicken supreme and a half bottle of wine each, followed by an hour and a half of 'Come on Eileen' and 'I wish it could be Xmas everyday' followed by a coach home at midnight.

As I say - bag of shit.
I shall now be going instead that night, to help at my 9 yr old boy's school disco! Rock on!

The JBRA christmas party will be held on Friday the 21st of December this year but the venue has yet to be decided.

All coach drivers, minibus hire firms, valeting companies, coachbuilders, train guards, train drivers, train buffet crew, cider makers and traffic police are welcome to attend to thank us for keeping them in continuing employment and to anticipate more business in the new year.

Self-employed layabout me, so I'm tagging on to my missus' bash instead.

Italian buffet, wine and beer and Si Signore in Sydney Street. Doesn't sound much, but her schoolteacher colleagues (and German exchange students) - all dozen or so of them are quite pleasant after a few glasses of wine, it has to be said.

:)

Just a quick question, who pays for your office party? Is it the company or yourself.

I work for the Govt, so I have to pay for my own, at a place I dont like and food I detest....£30 down the drain. Its at Loch Fyne, Leeds

I work for them as well - we have to pay for our own (or cover the office whilst other people go) and go in our own time.
Some people really don't know where they're well off

We pay for ours ourselves, too. We each put in £5 a week, so by the end of the year we have £260 a head, then just top it up if we need to.
