Couple of bottles of Old Rosie with the fam at home, and as many Cadbury Heroes as I can cram in my mouth, with a view to a little celebration tonight

What dosage would that be in? four parts Brandy 1 Part Port.

50/50 I think. Just ramp up the dosage until you cure your tummy ache or you are past caring anyway.

There's no way I'm opening them all! I wonder if there'd be any appetite for a NSC wine tasting group? Whatcha opening?

I have to do things on a bit of a budget, but tonight:
Van Volxem Schiefer Riesling
Chateau de Rochemorin 2009

Tomorrow:
Taittinger NV
some quite decent Premier Cru Chablis from Aldi
Nuits St Georges 2008 Les Allots Benjamin Leroux
If necessary, Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Hauts Jarrons 2008 Dom De Bellene
Alois Kracauer Eiswein

I live just down the road from Butler's, they do good tastings. Am up for something if we can get another six-plus together.

That's a nice mix. Kracher's stickies are stunning - I was gutted when he died so relatively soon after achieving global fame. Still, his son seems to be continuing his low yield philosophy.

I haven't had the Riesling you're having tonight - do let me know how it goes.

I bought a bottle of Kraken Spiced Rum the other day so have created a 'rum flight' with different concoctions to see which work best:

1) Neat with a little ice
2) Mixed with ginger ale
3) Mixed with Absolute Vodka and a dash of lemonade
4) Mixed with lemonade
5) Mixed with orange juice
6) Mixed with Chambord and a little lemonade

Sure one might also get left out for Santa later together with the mince pies:cheers:

Went to the winery in Saar, and bought a few cases. Very impressive, Jancis rates them highly. I'm a big fan of German riesling though, and am looking forward to the Kracher (apologies for earlier spelling).
