Because the whole point of what I was trying to achieve has been an utter waste of time. If another mod feels that your son has been insulted and sees fit to ban or infract [MENTION=232]Simster[/MENTION] then so be it. I really do not believe he was insulting your son.

You can't win this BoF. Beach Hut loves a row, and never more so than when he feels he has some moral ground to cling to. He'll be referring back to this SHAMEFUL episode for months. You did the sensible thing in attempting to stop the nonsense derailing the REMF thread. If he wants to argue over semantics with simster, there's a whole other (stuff) forum for him to play in.

Very much this. Simster's message was at the time perhaps uncalled for, but having read it, it's quite clear he was not calling a 16 year old a nob. He referred to him as 'Mini Beach Nob'. To me that's clearly referring to him as 'the son of Beach Nob'. And as we have seen by this thread, that's quite an accurate description of the father I'd say.

Can I make a request to ALL the Mods that the last 2 pages of this thread are just binned off all together?

There are certain posters that (every year) decide to cause a row on this thread because they had their noses put out of place (on behalf of others) a few years ago and STILL have trouble leaving it alone! This is why there is a stupid, pointless row EVERY YEAR!

Lets get back to what is important here, and that is raising money for THE REMF!
