On Saturday there was a quiet period in the second half when The Albion were getting bogged down and it felt like the team needed reminding:-

"we are top of the league".

It'll be good to keep reminding Rotherham just how up against it they will be tomorrow.

Although during that period our defence was rock solid.

It looks like such an easy game to extend our lead at the top - so why does that worry me?

This to me is the test of CH's credentials. Under GP and OG I felt we struggled against the lesser teams because our style didn't cope well with breaking down a resilient backs to the wall performance.

4-4-2 high tempo should alleviate that. I hope.

Because there is no such thing as an easy game in the Championship and we are due a poor performance....

If we were any other team it would be an easy 4-0 and they'd have no chance but we bloody love to do it the hard way!

Hate playing the teams in the relegation zone. They're always gonna put up a fight.

Rotherham are yet to win a league game...

We are yet to concede a goal at the Amex...

We have scored in every game we've played this season....

Something surely has to give!

I hate sequences like that in football..

Head says 0-0 (or the unlucky last min defeat 0-1) from years of experience. Heart says 3-0 up in first 15 mins and then finish it 5-0. We shall see!
4-1 seems fair then!

Bearing in mind that Rotherham's Fat Controller, Steve "pants down" Evans is seemingly about to jump ship for lower league Peterborough immediately after this game you would hope this might impact on their confidence and motivation.

"No easy games in this league" there were last year, at home to Brighton was always a banker and away was a good shout too. Haven't times changed?
It's like being a soldier at the top of a hill. The opposition keep sending their best man forward, Ipswich were second then came Hull and Cardiff look like being second when they come down. And we're shouting "is that the best you've got?"
Yep. Except Ipswich weren't second, we were.

What, knowing that fat prick is leaving ? Would spur them on I would say.

Looking at Rotherhams forum, you have to admire commitment from fans from team who are bottom of the table, about to face the side who is top, and clear by 4 pts.
Predictions of 3-1 to Rotherham. In their position, I would settle for a draw! Thats football though!

A lot of their confidence comes from having a brand new defence and midfield courtesy of loans. After an awful start they acted quickly and could have got a win at Charlton. Must feel like a new dawn. Shades of when we "lost" Sami last year. - gave everyone some hope :lolol:

Going to be tough tonight no question.

It's been so long since we tonked a team that by the law of averages and having a decent team now it's got to come soon. Love it to be tonight but totally aware that this match is, potentially, a very slippery banana skin.

It's about time we got a positive result when Linington referees one of our games. The last 3 were all at home:

0-1 v Millwall
1-2 v Sheff Wed
0-1 v Barnsley

???

Well "Hoops" broke the habit of a lifetime and managed to referee a game on Saturday quite well and even more surprising, quite fairly. So fingers crossed...

I actually disagree completely, and think Steve Bruce has missed the point. The reason all of the games we've one so far have been by a one goal margin is because (rightly or wrongly) we've taken the foot off the gas and defended for the rest of the game.
Maybe against Forest and Hull. Against Ipswich we obviously didn't take the foot off, we carried on, scoring 2, but then Ipswich countered our formation and came back, and we managed to get a winner. Against Fulham we were hanging on for a draw for the last 10 / 15 minutes. We were hanging on a bit against Huddersfield too. Blackburn were the better side before we scored, so it's not like we eased off.

Right now we're looking pretty, but the concern must be that when we've started well, the opposition have been able to make changes and be on top.

Agree, CH seems to be adopting the old Arsenal Highbury tactics of getting an early goal
If only it were that easy. We've been able to get an early goal in a few games, but I wouldn't call that a tactic.

A win for Blackburn tonight would be welcome

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned that Blackburn are 1-0 up at QPR
