The Burnley fans

Our support played a very huge part in the game, really got behind the players and made them believe we can get something out of the game. Burnley I didn't hear once,900 odd and no noise at all.

We normally have a very vocal away support.

To be fair, we were only given/ our club only took 850 tickets. (found out we had 983 though?)
And the majority of the fans that went today, were London based clarets, who are renouned for being very quiet.

A couple of seasons ago, I went to Reading and we had over 1'000 there, but the majority were London clarets.. and trying to get any songs going was a lost cause with some of them.
A week later we played Ipswich away, only took around 600 fans, majority from Burnley and it was non stop singing for 90 minutes.. 600 not going to sound that loud, but it was non stop singing for 90 minutes.

Plus alot of the older season ticket would have snapped up the tickets, with their loyality points before they went on general sale. So that's why most would have been 'pensioners' Also it is a week before xmas, and alot of people are skint/had work parts etc.

I know it sounds like I am making excuses, but our away support is honestly usualy very vocal, not always the biggest following compared to most teams, but usually very vocal.

I hope we get Brighton in the FA Cup and our club don't screw us over with the tickets again, then you can see our true away support.

We were lucky today, had you not had 9 men we would not have hung on. Hardly a win to shout about But when the dust settles, it is 3 points.

. (I remember reading in the stats before the game, that Brighton had the most yellow cards in the League.. but I was not expecting that inside the first 12 minutes)

Ignore most of these as 900 is still bloody good

I thought they were fine, TBH, it must have been a surreal environment for them with our crowd going mental for 80 minutes

Sometimes when a home crowd really get going it intimidates the away following and when they do sing it sounds out of desperation more than anything else.
That is what happened yesterday.

I agree that Burnley's support given the size of Burnley (with other clubs around them) is superb. But to have a dig at the albion's away support to Boro is unfair. Most of Burnley's support yesterday would have been from london / South East, as such you are not comparing like with like. Brighton also took 1200 to Derby on a Tuesday night, and on Saturdays take large numbers to most places. For me, both have very good support.

So you think palace make more noise and are more passionate than Burnley,sake you couldn,t make it up.have alook next time you are at home apart from the 50 or so in the corner in the holmsdale who try hard to get the rest singing the whole ground is quiet.Burnley have great support and fair play to the 900 odd,but the noise created by the whole ground today was superb.To some of the younger albion followers on here when you have been to turf moor then make a comment on the Burnley support.

..I wasnt at Derby ands took that from someone else, I was at Rochdale years ago on a midweek when we had 700 odd tho.. but yep, Burnley have a cracking support. The town is tiny, they have clubs around them but they still get the same sort of crowds as that little club called palace up the a23

I remember wheen we, and Burnley, were knocking around the lower leagues and Burnley always brought a fair amount to the Goldstone even for midweek gamez.

Their support may well have been quiet or was it just that we were more vocal than usual?

Been to Burnley 6 times with the Albion and also to Burnley V Wolves when Gazza turned playing for them.

Shit town full of shit fans(at the Wolves game I heard more noise from Bury fans collecting cash donations in a bucket than the home end)

And what a total dump the town is,it needs Nuking to clear the place off the map.
